I was thinking the same thing. They got Troy Howarth, but not her?!

In for Shock Treatment and Don't Torture a Duckling. Ronin is a maybe, from what I can remember the first Blu-Ray isn't all that bad, so if I find that dirt cheap in my travels I'd happily settle for that.

I have that digipack and the original single disc version. Kept both because the Filming In The Fast Lane featurette is 3½ minutes shorter on the special edition. I wonder which version will be on the Arrow disc.

In for The Slayer, not seen but have wanted to DTAD. Already have Ronin, nothing wrong with it so will wait on reviews to see if worth buying again.

Shock Treatment! Whoever saw that coming?!

No classic and thanks to Tim Curry adamantly refusing to take part not what Richard O’Brien had originally envisaged. Two or three memorable songs, imaginative use of a limited and claustrophobic set, a pitch perfect (from an acting standpoint) performance from Barry Humphries of all people and of course now it's on blu-ray no PAL audio speed up mean this isn't a complete waste of time but unless it falls to £15 or so I really can't justify purchasing.

Scanning the bonus material it looks like O'Brian isn't involved. Fair enough, his prerogative, but his scathing opinions re the finished product would I'm sure be well worth hearing.

Also, bet at the planning stages this release was to include a soundtrack CD. If so it's a shame it never happened.

EDIT: On reflection I'll probably wait and pick up the standard edition for £6 in a Fopp Arrow sale in about 12 to 18 months time. I'm not that desperate for the booklet.

I was a huge Rocky Horror fan in the mid 80s and scoured every video rental store looking for Shock Treatment. Finally found it lurking on a revolving rack in the corner of a local newsagent and rushed home to watch it.

Boy was I disappointed!

THE BIG KNIFE (1955)

Mere months after delivering one of the definitive examples of film noir with Kiss Me Deadly, Robert Aldrich brought a noir flavor to Hollywood with his classic adaptation of Clifford Odets' stage play, The Big Knife.

Charles Castle, one of Hollywood s biggest stars, looks like he has it all. But his marriage is falling apart and his wife is threatening to leave him if he renews his contract. Studio boss Stanley Shriner Hoff isn t taking the news too well, and he ll do anything he can to get his man to sign on the dotted line even if means exposing dark secrets...

Winner of the Silver Lion at the 1955 Venice Film Festival, The Big Knife also boasts a remarkable cast list including Jack Palance (Shane) as Castle and Rod Steiger (On the Waterfront) as Hoff, plus Shelley Winters (The Night of the Hunter), Ida Lupino (On Dangerous Ground), Jean Hagen (Singin in the Rain) and Everett Sloane (Citizen Kane).

THE LOVE OF A WOMAN (1953)

The Love of a Woman (L'amour d'une femme) was the final feature of the great French filmmaker Jean Grémillon, concluding a string of classics that included such greats as Remorques, Lumiere d'eteand Pattes blanches.

Marie, a young doctor, arrives on the island of Ushant to replace its retiring physician. She experiences prejudice from the mostly male population, but also love in the form of engineer André.

Starring Micheline Presle, whose impressive career has encompassed French, Italian and Hollywood cinema, and Massimo Girotti, best-known for his performance in Luchino Visconti's Ossessione, The Love of a Woman is a sad, beautiful, romantic masterpiece.
