It's hard to make a great film. It's really hard to make five of them.

A filmmaker (or filmmaking duo) who can manage five great films is something of an anomaly in the annals of film. They're rare. Many well-respected filmmakers with big names don't get that kind of result.

Heck, I think Capra only made 4 great films.

They certainly can make great films: Fargo, Inside Llewyn Davis, A Serious Man, Blood Simple & Miller's Crossing but American cinema would be no poorer if they had never made anything.
Convenient of you to leave out No Country for Old Men which is one of the most important and talked about films of the 00s. That alone leaves a huge mark on all of cinema. People still use it as influence on many things other just modern films but new novels or indie (and AAA) video games.

Hudsucker really is underrated - as is Burn and Serious Man. Love all those, but Lebowski will always take my top spot. STFU Donnie.

I saw Burn After Reading in theaters and was the loudest one laughing (might just be an annoying laugh) , but I never understood people being negative about it.

Last time I watched it, I watched it with my mother. I was laughing hysterically through the whole thing. Afterwards, she turned to me and said, "I think you liked it more than I did."

She didn't dislike it. She just thought it was pretty funny instead of hilarious.

She was obviously wrong.

Some of Brad Pitt and John Malkovich’s line readings just drive me to hysterics and I still laugh as hard as I did the first time I saw it!

Kirsty had to face Frank, Julia and the Cenobites.

Nancy only had to deal with Freddy.

But really, I just like her better.

You know, I'd have to agree with you I think. It's a close one but Kirsty edges it. What she has to go through boggles the mind. I'd say the best performance is still probably Langenkamp in New Nightmare though. Different sort of film though.

Mel Gibson and Woody Allen should star in a movie directed by Roman Polanski, from a script by the Coen brothers.

I watch the scene with them in the car on YouTube at least once a year and laugh uncontrollably every time.

If you can get Jeffrey Jones in the cast and somehow get Victor Salva involved, I'm in!
