You're likely to discovery many more free content sites available to you. I didn't think US IMDB was accessible to UK but if it now good.
I wasn’t praising it, quite the opposite. It just seems like an excuse to get ads in there. Like I said, most of it has been on Amazon already.

Ad supported content generally means I can find a better way to watch it if I try.

Half the ads is still double the amount I want. Thank goodness my ATV4K now has a mute button for things that do have ads. Actual movies with ad breaks is terrible.

Happy October! If nothing else, there will be candy.

I enjoy my Home Theater more every day. Last night I enjoyed Knives Out with a childhood friend who is visiting.

The future and Generation whatever is certainly partly scary to me. I listen to new music sometimes and new music is much more horrifying than any other thoughts of future apocalypse.

Whatever way others enjoy content, good for them. I know what I like and at my age I get much more time to enjoy my home theater hobby than ever before.

edit - Looks like the di$ney lawsuit is over. (Maybe old news)

[Show spoiler]Statement from Scarlett Johansson:
“I am happy to have resolved our differences with Disney. I'm incredibly proud of the work we've done together over the years and have greatly enjoyed my creative relationship with the team. I look forward to continuing our collaboration in years to come.”
Alan Bergman, the chairman of Disney Studios Content:
“I’m very pleased that we have been able to come to a mutual agreement with Scarlett Johansson regarding ‘Black Widow'. “We appreciate her contributions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and look forward to working together on a number of upcoming projects, including Disney’s Tower of Terror.”
Details:
Scarlett Johansson and Disney have settled a breach of contract lawsuit over the star’s Black Widow payday, a source tells The Hollywood Reporter. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The explosive suit, filed by the actress in July in Los Angeles Superior Court, claimed that the studio sacrificed the film’s box office potential in order to grow its fledgling Disney+ streaming service. Disney countered that Johansson was paid $20 million for the film.

Are you still in the market for a streaming (IPTV) box? The Nvidia Shield Pro (2019) is an alternate to the AppleTV 4K. If I could have only one box I would pick the ATV.

With cheez avenger posting he gets Atmos with Vudu I would believe you are good to go with the ATV.

For us it was The House with a Clock in Its Walls. Not a Halloween movie but does have a lot of scary pumpkins. Still a top pick for the use of Dolby Atmos.

Still waiting for the Lyngdorf to come in so am holding off on popping in the 4K version I picked up a few months ago of House with a clock in its walls, as I want to test out the steering of the processor with it more than likely.

I did rewatch the first Escape Room yesterday in anticipation of the 2nd one coming out next week. First one is a fun guilty pleasure sort of thriller for me that definitely sets up the 2nd one. Good one to up-mix also.

There is still some really good new music out there, but you have to look in different places for it. I added 16 CDs since August, with 9 of them being new releases.

I do agree though that there is also some crap out there, but then again, my parents were saying the same thing wondering what the hell I was bringing home as a 12 yr old.

Escape Room 1 doesn’t have Atmos on the disc, right?

Correct. Still sounds great though. Sony seems to have a good track record with their audio in my mind.

I rented it on Itunes Movie and yes the sound was great. I wish the release it in Atmos. Such potential in creating an awesome Atmos mix

Had to push my Venom 2 show to Sunday.

Will probably watch the remake of The Guilty today on Netflix. It's in 4K DV / Atmos, too. I'm also interested in that Netflix series "Squid Game." Heard nothing but good things about its insanity. I believe it's also in 4K DV / Atmos, as well.

Got my Halloween Kills tickets this morning.

As in Auro-Matic®? Be interesting for you to compare native Atmos to Auro-Matic. Which works best: Auro-Matic vs Dolby Upmixer vs DTS Neural:X with 2, 5.1 and 7.1 sources would be another good test. You should not be bored anytime soon.

I am thinking I will need a week of vacation to setup and tweak then finally enjoy my updated room and eyes!

The movie is so damn good I never bothered to think about how good the transfer is but I tend to play that one loud and it does sound amazing.

According to the review here the AV quality is great.

You of all people must be aware that subscription streaming has experienced explosive growth year after year and that would not be happening if interest in what these services offered was lessening.
Yes you are right not so much Movies but TV Shows. When I talk to people they really don't talk about Movies, but TV Series are another story they know all about them. Like The Queen's Gambit, Clickbait, Goliath, or Yellowstone. So I was thinking, maybe Movies should take the same track. Make them more like Series or bring back the Cliff Hanger. Are you listening Hollywood and The Studios?

bought these this week:

Also watched Men in Black: International and Morgan. Decent movies but nothing amazing. MIB had a cool effect at the end that made it seem like aliens were walking over my head.

It seems like everyone I know is talking about Squid Game. Even overheard two employees at Best Buy talking about it.

You rely too much upon your anecdotes. People I know discuss both movies and TV shows to about the same extent. So, is my anecdote a better indicator or is yours? The correct answer is neither one.

If the top 10 on Netflix are any indicator, at the moment 5 of the top 10 are movies, 1 is a documentary, and 4 are series. About an even split which aligns better with my anecdote. Does that win me a prize?

I'm technically in the market for several things, but most of my plans have been derailed for the foreseeable future.

I watched the first two episodes today and it rocked. The 4K DV and Atmos were also top notch.
