I wasn't talking about that specific article, just one that i had read somewhere along the way months ago.

I bought it as an upgrade to my DVD, which should guarantee a blu-ray release announcement at any time.

I think everything but the final act is great in this film. The Village was the beginning of M. Knight's downfall. IMO

Old debuted on Vudu today, but it costs $19.99 to purchase. Far better to wait two weeks and buy it on disc. It includes the digital code, anyway.

I am still undecided about whether or not I will buy it. I visited the thread here for it (in the Movies forum) and found it awash in nonsense from two forum members in particular. I have nothing against a little silliness, but those two just don't ever relent. They essentially hijack whatever thread they visit.
Those two guys destroyed the Old thread. It’s almost impossible to discuss the film as they just restart with their nonsense. They also did this in the Malignant thread. It’s turned quite nasty between us to be honest.
They also think I’m a Marvel hater which is a joke. I own most Marvel films.

Mods delete their posts but they just keep springing up again every few days.

As for those tiles, I refuse to go digital.

Old is pretty good, at least I thought so. The camerawork was great and the Atmos worked a treat. As soon as they hit the beach, it just turns to chaos.

Well, you're a lot younger than me and, I'm guessing, in better health. I can't afford to wait for everything to come to blu-ray.

I think I still have the DVD of the Village.

Definitely prefer upsampled DVD to steaming partly because of the reliability of steaming but also upsampled DVD really looks better than most people think it does and often DVD had lossless PCM sound which is far superior to anything gimped (compressed)

Not the biggest fan of Shyamalan, I watch his stuff but I don't enjoy all of it. I was stunned when he linked what I consider his best to his worst; Near the end of Split when he tied it to Unbearable.

You didn’t like Unbreakable? Out of all of his movies, that is one I seldom see mentioned as being a stinker.

Understood but I was trying to do DVD to HDX digital for $5 + tax. So I went ahead and purchased for the sale price of $7.95 + tax.

Any Legend (Tom Cruise) fans here? High-Def Digest reviewer list the new BD as “Must Own.” No Time to Die theatrical review only got “Worth a Look.” With Linus Sandgren as the DP this one may not rest on my shelf either.

I think the second time I watched Glass it helped with liking Unbreakable.

It all works together but I remember loving Split and then wondering at first why he would want to relate it back to that one. Split seemed a lot heavier.

No discussion about his worst is complete without The Happening but I adore Zooey so much I'll watch her do absolutely anything for the most part.

The Last Airbender is his worst along with Lady In The Water imo. Massive M.Night fan here by the way.

Redbox sells used 4K discs (dependent on availability) and I just scored News of the World for $3.99 and Nobody for $5.99. They are blind buys. I would have also gone for Chaos Walking for $3.99, but have heard nothing but bad things about that one.

I have to agree with you, but would add Happening in that trifecta.

The Happening is funny though, it saves it from total failure!

Split blew me away. Also a killer Atmos mix on that one. James McAvoy made the movie what it was in my mind.

I have held off on the Daniel Craig 4K set for the sole purpose of having it be complete once No Time to Die gets released. Day 1 for me whenever the day comes when we see a box set.

Understood.

Hope Squid Game gets a Blu-ray/4K release. Looks right up my street. Am I right in thinking big hits get eventual disc releases?

We did not care for News, if you like John Wick then Nobody will fit right in. Have the UHD version (2K DI) on our shelf.

Hmmm... the Universal blu-ray had pretty decent reviews and it included both cuts, so other than the collectible tat that the Arrow edition comes with I am not seeing much reason to get their edition. If Arrow was releasing both cuts on 4K disc then that would have been a real temptation, but buying Legend a second time on blu-ray, and for $35, is hard to justify just for a booklet and a poster.

Also, Arrow has been botching their releases of late. Donnie Darko 4K needed a disc replaced and there are reports that Dune 1984 4K also has major issues. I would recommend that anyone interested in the new Arrow release of Legend wait for user reviews before buying it.
