I've found that discussing the pro's and con's of 3D on film is so subjective with opinions so polarised that i just don't get involved with it. I like 3D, i appreciate that others don't...and that's where my part of the discussion ends.

Not seeing The Force Awakens till Sunday afternoon....in 3D, with 4 other mates so i'm staying away from any and all reviews etc.

Zavvi have an exclusive steelbook. Amazon have a bonus disc listed but it doesn't say if it's an exclusive.

I would hope all releases include a bonus disc with preferably a feature length Charles de Lauzirika documentary.

Well I didn't say you assumed personally, just that the general reaction is conversion 3D sucks. But as I say is all opinion. My idea of good 3D is different to another's and then some don't like 3D regardless.

I'm seeing it tonight so I'll pass judgement then

Pre-ordered the amazon edition. Saw this at midnight and have agreed to go see it again on Monday. Already had 2 other requests to go see it again with other people. I think it's going to make a few quid.

I wonder if anyone will be doing it for £10 as a limited offer?

The blu ray is now £2 cheaper than this morning at £15.99, still too much even if it SW.

I think so. Frozen, Brave, Inside Out are all 3D.

Pre orders of new Star Wars before it has opened in cinemas? Is nobody else worried about this for the future of cinema? I cannot imagine not seeing it on a giant screen first before knowing if I want my own Blu Ray copy at some time. I even go to see some movies in the cinema more than once already!

Not sure I see the harm in hoping that the eventual BD release includes some decent extras unlike Disney's latest offerings which are barebones.

Also who hasn't seen Episode VII by now, was there at midnight like any good fan should have been

It's been like that most of the year unfortunately. Is really strange pre ordering a film before even seeing it in the cinema, but there no harm in ordering just in case, you can always cancel should you not want it.

Only 3 and a half hours until I get to see it, unfortunately I have a job that didn't cater my needs to see it at midnight. Not only that but it took me 2 hours to actually confirm my booking and by then there were no seats left fire midnight anyway! At least no good ones

I'd wager this will beat Avatar for the worldwide crown, and the top ten grossing films of all time currently includes 4 films released this year (Ultron, Jurassic World, Fast 7, Minions) so no, I don't think the state of blockbuster cinema or home video is something to worry about. Indie cinema is a different bag, but that doesn't have people rabidly pre-ordering 6 months in advance, that has a problem with people wanting to find free ways to watch things before buying because they don't want to risk a purchase, combined with blockbusters squeezing them out of cinemas.

Seeing a film on the bi9g screen is the best way to experience it. Unfortunately, some folks don't have a cinema within reasonable travelling distance and viewing at home is their only option. If you are lucky enough to live near to a cinema, please support it if you can. Some of us would love to.

What, of all time? You're kidding right? It's only just recently cracked $800M worldwide, it's gonna fall way short of Skyfall's $1.1 billion haul.

Dude, that's a negatory. As with Skyfall it's going great guns at the UK box office (it's taken over $140M here, which is HUGE) but worldwide all time top 10? Not even close.
