Thanks for that, Pieter. But that background ... no favor to early-morning eyes. Could you go for, like, a solid color next time - something that doesn't move so much?

FYI

TDKR is actually available already in stores here in Hong Kong. Available are the 3 different HK versions (regular, steelbook, and the package with the Batman figure included), as well as the regular US version. I got myself the regular US version, and will check it out as soon as I am done typing this!

Yep, it should be. I'm not aware of any other version of the Cowl edition in the US, they all should be the same.

The $5 off for TDK Rises deal at Best Buy seems to be a total disaster. The cardboard display with parts 1 and 2 steelbooks says you get $5 off TDK Rises combo pack with purchase. So we think WB was supposed to send a separate $5 off coupon for TDKR. We know now that is not the case. The workaround supposedly was Best Buy corporate decided to have stores give a $5 BB gift card with each steelbook purchase of 1 and 2.

So the store I visited earlier this week had a typed up sign stating that new offer a few days ago. So last night, I go in that same store and the sign was taken down. The crew last night was a bit confused about what was going on and I told them what I had seen before. So I did end up getting a $5 gc with each steelbook.

However, there are 2 different kinds of Batman Begins and TDK steelbooks, with different skus. The first set rings up $9.99 and these are the ones that had the TDKR movie cash offer. The 2nd set actually rings up regular price. These don't have the ticket included.

I actually think the original plan was for those ones that ring up regular price were the ones that was supposed to have the $5 off TDKR combo pack deal. And the "old stock" versions were just part of the $9.99 sale.

Either way, it's a complete mess since not everyone is getting the gift cards. At the register, I picked out the $9.99 versions and when they rang up, there was no pop up message in the POS about the gift card. So the manager on duty did an override and I got them. I'm wondering if the non-TDKR movie cash versions actually generate the gift card deal in their system.

According to the BBY employee thread, they don't charge until the item ships. If that's the case, it should automatically be adjusted to the ad price, so you'd be charged $24.99.

If they don't adjust it automatically, it's nothing more than a simple phone call. I did it with the steelbooks earlier this year. Took no more than two or three minutes on the phone with customer service and they credited my card the difference within a day or so.

Just checked the status of my steelbook order (for those that pre-ordered online). The status changed to processing and it cannot be canceled. Looks like they're getting ready to ship. Fingers crossed it ships today or tomorrow. It would be nice to receive it by Saturday!

(slim chance, I know!)

Doubt they would put the spider wraps on them. They are going to be moving a lot of copies, so they will want as many on the shelves as possible. No spider wraps = more inventory on shelves.

It will be interesting if this film will be as powerful on blu-ray. I saw the film twice, once in an imax dome and once in a regular theatre. I was blown away how intense the movie is. I wonder if viewing it on a tv screen will detract from that.

I imagine that, with a big HDTV screen, surround sound, and the lights off, yeah, it should remain powerful and intense.

BBY, yep. Just checked mine. It's being prepared to ship. It'll most likely be tomorrow. (for my Spider-man steel it took from Tues. 6th when shipd and arrived on release of the 9th)

Also, It was in a thin cardboard sleeve not plastic garbage bag (??) like other people are saying BBY does.

Wal-Mart was selling the trilogy set today for $40. Picked it up without hesitation. Nice sturdy box with the five discs housed inside a fold-out case.
