That's why I keep going back to Secure Media Servers, where you can store your Collection just like your Discs. With Full Rights, and they won't be taken away.
Only in your mind have we moved on to Digital HD. The numbers don't suggest we have moved on at all. It's a split between disc, subscription and Digital HD.

Digital is for people that enjoy the convenience, and perks that it offers. Blu-ray is slowly becoming for disc collectors unwilling to grasp the change that's happening right in front of them, but to each there own...

Not a fan of Digital. I either give the codes away or just throw them away in no takers.

For the codes you don't give away you could try selling them in the digital copy sale thread.

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=220953

New releases sell for around $4--$7 and catalog titles will get you $2--$4 unless it's an extremely common movie like the Dark Knight Rises.

Here we go again, putting down Digital when it's now on par with Disc. I have my 65" UHD Sony now, and Hard Wired straight to my Fiber feed Switch. My HDX Streaming Movies are Fantastic!

PQ might be close (though not everyone has the bandwidth you're getting with fiber), but you're stuck at DD 5.1 audio. No Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, or any other lossless codec.

Digital has other perks besides convenience?

Your proof that Blu-ray is failing is DVD's decline?

False.

It doesn't have to be either or....

I love having a digital collection and streaming digital along with my hard copy Blu-Ray collection. I haven't dropped my standard one bit. I'm a fan of cinema not format.

Very true! I have a 60 inch 4k tv and notice very little difference when streaming HDX or iTunes HD from my Blu-Ray copy. In addition with digital I have the flexibility to take my collection with me as I have 3 trips planned starting in May.

Well, Netflix and Amazon you mean? Agreed. Digital HD, not a chance. By the way, the change you mention is only happening in your country. Pretty much everywhere else, UV and Digital HD, IMO, is a massive fail.

If you don't notice a difference between ITunes and Bluray that says more about your eyesight than anything else.

Isn't this thread meant to discuss Physical vs. Digital, not Blu-ray vs. Digital? And isn't DVD about 2/3 of the physical market? Showing how far 2/3 of the market has fallen in 10 years is hardly pointless...

But you're specifically pointing out the part that's falling faster to make it look worse than it is.

Exactly. DVD has been around for decades lol. It's normal for it to be tailing off at this stage in its life.

Notice the sheer lack of Digital HD updates. Or the fact any positive news is fabricated by throwing in Netflix and Amazon subs as well!

Believe me, they ain't shouting from the rooftops. There is a bloody good reason for that.
