This will save you from wasting 10 bucks. Just skip to the 20 minute mark and watch King Ghidorah destroy everything.

Redstar, Rebirth of Mothra 3 isn't out on DVD in the US. So, he won't be wasting any money on it.

I already know this yet I still forgot. I blame Rebirth of Mothra.

I blame it on Rebirth of Mothra 2. That is hands down probably the worst Toho Kaiju film I've seen. Oh, God! The Horror! I saw it dubbed German the first time I saw it and it was AWFUL! I finally saw it in English about two years ago.

So is anyone planning on getting The Mysterians, G:TTHM, Godzilla vs Mothra 64, Atragon, or GXM coming out on the 19th?

I'm really hoping The Mysterians got a decent cleaning up and restoration as the film has a lot of issues in terms of print damage.

I'm also very interested in GvM and G:TTHM as they're both classics and should great in HD. I'm just happy they didn't put to many other Showa films in this wave. Convincing my wife to let me get one is huge issue, let along 3! I just hope they come out looking good. I love the Gojira Toho Blu-ray (the clarity and sharpness look great, yet still film like), but I have no real way to judge how the color scope films may look based on that Blu-ray.

Oh does anyone here have Godzilla (1984)? It's a film near and dear to me and I was wondering how is the picture quality on that (pics off a tv even would be fine)? Also how long does the new destruction comparison extra run, I read somewhere it's like 50 minutes long in addition to being in HD and covers the entire series!

I'm getting them all, except for Atragon.

It looks good, but don't expect reference material. Fans should be pleased.

I just looked over the disc to answer your question. There are 2 documentaries. One is around 44 minutes, and is a documentary of the making of G84. The other is around 50 minutes and is a documentary showing the different real life locations in Japan where scenes take place and compare them to the sets that were made to recreate them (which is what I'm guessing you're talking about).

Thanks, that's what I needed to know. I just wanted to confirm the running time for the destruction comparison extra. I wanted to make sure it wasn't just a still gallery. I'm putting in an order for it now. I'm going to hold off on the older titles until I hear about the picture quality (especially regarding the Mysterians). GTTHM and Mothra are my next purchases as long as the prints are good, so please let us know what you think of them.

Thanks!

I'm looking very forward to checking out the Mysterians and the Showa films. If they're as nice as War Of The Gargantuas, fans will be thrilled. I should have them on Friday, so stay tuned.

I'm also hoping TOHO has some titles to announce for May later this week.

Well WoTG suffered from a dark print, while Mysterians just has a ton of damage from regular print damage to problems with how the opticals were originally done. Still, I'm hoping that HD remastering will be able to work some magic on it.

Same here. I appreciate the gap in between releases, it makes it a lot easier to get some of the titles. Granted at HMV and Amazon Japan even with shopping they cost the same as a new PS3 or XBOX360 game with sales tax.

I doubt Toho will be able to clean up all that print damage on the Mysterians but we'll see.

I do too, but I'm hoping that even just a basic HD clean up will improve the quality of the picture a little.

I'm sure they'll be some improvement but probably not enough for me to upgrade over my Media Blasters release.

I'm not expecting miracles, but its a title I'd like to own in HD. Well we'll find out next week. One nice thing is that with the MB disc you can use the subtitles for the movies and extras to (when BR drives because more common) to reauthor the disc or play it on the computer and use and HDMI connection to the TV, or just follow along with them on the screen. Actually that applies to a lot of the MB discs, so it makes them good to own and still keep around after an upgrade.

TOHO supposedly spent a lot of time and money restoring their catalog. We'll have to wait and see what they could do with The Mysterians.

Where did you order from? Amazon Japan only uses 2 day shipping. I always get preordered titles on release day.

That's pretty darn good. I though they only come out on Friday. Does Amazon Japan ship them a couple of days early?

I wanted to go with Amazon Japan this time, but they weren't ready to ship out till the 16th while HMV says I'll get it by the 16th!
