1,000+ 1,500+ 2,000+ Blu-ray Disc Collection Club

My door gets knocked on in the wee hours of the morning with wayward blurays just showing up out of nowhere. They all tell me they heard my house was the place to be. It's to the point that I can put a drop of water onto a bluray and 3 or 4 more will pop out.

ARRGGG! you would think number 1000 would be a pirate movie.. It was the Dick Van Dyke Collection that was number 1000.

I really do enjoy movies... and Blu-rays. Thanks to all the members and thanks to Blu-ray.com for all the information, reviews and tools (i.e pricetracker). We are blessed to have such a knowledgable and supportive community.

Now when in the hell are we going to get The Great Race

If you'll notice none of them are regular posters. I wonder why. More than likely they don't have the passion for films that many of us regulars here do and they're just buying to buy. There's a collector and there's a hoarder.

Probably due to the ones I have that belong to my wife like Zohan, What Happens in Vegas, and the Twilight films. You take those out and it's hard to find junk in my collection. Oh, and I have watched them all at least once.

One thing you will also notice is that they seem to list different versions from different countries for the same film. Makes me think that they just add everything and are lying about what they actually have.

Maybe, but from the ones I saw they were mostly collectibles, Steelbooks and the sort.

That's kind of my impression too. It bluray.com is goin to acknowledge you as a top collector, it should require a photo of your collection to substantiate it

I don't know bro. The #1 collector does have over 1200 posts. That's more than I have and I feel like I'm a regular poster. But you're absolutely correct seeing he's the only one in the top ten that's even approached 150. #2 guy has a big fat ZERO and the rest have 20 or so.
Granted, having 1,764 copes of 2012 makes one go, Hmmm, but Hell, if I had THAT kind of money and was that financially stable, I STILL wouldn't buy that many multiple copies of the same film, especially that one

By the way, I just went over 1400 a few minutes ago with my latest purchases.

If people actually add movies to their collection just for being in the top ten here what does it really matter? They are only lying and cheating themselves, it's not like a price can be won for having the largest package...I mean collection
