Well, Disney does own ABC. So that's one hurdle that's been crossed. Now it's just the costs issue.

I think Episode 7 would be a reboot of sorts - I expect all new heroes and villains (except R2-D2 and C-3PO), with an all-new story, all rooted in the history of the original Saga.

I'm all for more Star Wars movies.

The Marvel movies have been great since Disney acquired those rights, no reason to think they won't keep Star Wars true to its roots as well.

I would not say they have been "great". The Dark Knight was great. They have been good, except Iron Man 2.

You could do a lot worse than Kevin Smith. Sure, his track record as director has been iffy lately (with Cop Out and Red State), but he's passionate about Star Wars and you know that he will be fully committed to bringing an experience that the fans have been clamouring for since Episode VI (I've written off the prequels in my mind ).

And Kevin Smith liked the Prequels. So it's a win win for everyone. I'd love to see what he'd do if given the chance.

Especially after seeing what he's capable of. His Red State was a great departure from his usual comforts.
