I just set mine as high as it'll go before there are distortions in the image.
I only use it with my projector not my tv, so once it starts to look unnatural or I get halos around edges I turn it down so they are no longer visible. Animated films seem to be able to take it the best at its highest, sometimes up to 100 without any distortion. For the most part though I use 60 for 2D content and up to 80 for 3D. |

Earlier I reported an issue using my new Darbee processor. That issue has now been resolved, and I thought I'd share the resolution with anyone that's interested (or not!)
The issue: Darbee was passing along the 3D signal, but not 2D. My Sony BR player is a 4K upscaling model. When I originally set up the player, I enabled that feature, so all my 2D discs were output as 4K. The Darbee is not 4K compatible. While I realized that prior to purchase, my interpretation of that caveat was that a signal would still pass through, just not at 4K...WRONG! The 3D signal always came through fine since that's at 1080P. Once I disabled the 4K output feature on the Sony, the problem was solved. I've seen comments saying LG OLED's are about as good as it gets for PQ. Well, I love my LG...I just love it a little bit more with my Darbee! Subjectively speaking (of course!) |

I never compared 4K disabled/enabled w/o Darbee. Always had it on, since I figured it wouldn't hurt PQ. |

I too have a Sony 4K upscaling player but I always kept 4K upscaler disabled. I figure you want the purest, most pristine signal to hit your TV. I do the same with my Denon receiver and always turn off all upscalers or other gimmicks. 1080p is 1080p anyway, and a player won't magically turn it into 4K.

That's great news indeed! Explains a problem that had us all perplexed. So glad you can now relax and enjoy the darbee. Know what you mean. Even though not an LG owner, was very happy with what I had and the darbee made me a lot more happier. You'll have fun using the demo mode seeing the differences! So happy it was resolved. |

So if you have, say, Oppo 203 + 4K LG Oled tv and you want to hook up a darbee for 1080p blurays will it work? signal pass-through won't be an issue?
