Yessss I've been waiting for this to finally show up for pre-order on Amazon. Now we only have to wait until October...

And, yes, I'm still annoyed that they didn't release this a few years ago for the 20th anniversary or after Lion King like the Platinum DVDs, but better late than never.

Surprised there only seems to be one version of it, but at the same time I'm not considering how little Disney seems to care about this movie.

I think that the cover artwork is great but I agree with some of the other posts, gold would look nicer than silver.

I hope that the Diamond Edition of Aladdin will include the Theatrical 5.1 Mix in Dolby Digital. I think it is a big deal to include that because Aladdin was the first animated movie to use 5.1 Audio.

They canceled the 3D conversions after the 3D theatrical releases of Beauty and the Beast, Finding Nemo, and Monsters Inc. didn't do as well as Disney would have liked.

Although The Little Mermaid didn't have a 3D release, it was only released on 3D BD because it had the 3D conversion done before the 3D theatrical cancellation.

Since doing good 3D conversions just for 3D BD isn't as cost effective (Titanic's 3D conversion cost $18 million), there was no reason to expect such a release when Disney hasn't been releasing 3D BDs of new Disney titles (that were released theatrically in 3D) in North America.

Also, what's with Iago? Forget the fact that he is such a minor character compared to the rest. but the face looks silly and the clip itself doesn't look finished......like they forgot to render him......

UPDATE: The Blu-ray.com listing currently have new covers being uploaded, so someone should be able to post a higher resolution image of the cover.

Sears.com also has a preorder for $26.99. It's possibly only good to consider if you have the $10 off purchase of $20 or more coupon code that expires this weekend (and you can't think of anything else to get).

How long after you text for the coupon, does it get sent? I thought maybe it was automatic, but it's been 6 minutes so far. (never done a "text for coupon" before)

Edit: I don't know what's wrong. 20 minutes and still no coupon code This whole "text to coupon" thing Sears does is crap.

Is it just me, or do Aladdin and Jasmine look kind of "off" on the cover? Their faces seem funny....I was hoping for a cool lamp cover, but this could be worse.

On the cover that was posted, Jasmine does look weird, her eyes are too wide and the nose is flat.

I agree abut the colour. Aladdin is a film drenched in warm colours, and they choose a cold, steely look for the cover? Really? I know, I know, it's just a cover, but once again, it just feels like Disney is dropping the ball again and again and it's starting to really tick me off!

Like the cover. I wonder why past DE releases got gold covers when the silver color used with this and 101 is much more fitting, with them being Diamond Editions after all.
