BestBuy accounting methods are screwed up badly. Customers are charged when they received the product or service. It's call "Revenue recognition" I do have a business degree with Accounting as the core of my studies from Rutgers University. In short BestBuy can not recognize revenue because the item has not left the warehouse. So now we know that BestBuy assets which is cash on their Balance sheet is overstated by $34.99 x other people.

Ok I misspoke the charge is pending, but that changes nothing.

Btw, I’m married to someone with a business degree, but I don’t know what your hyperbolic experiences have to do with their actual stock numbers. I just think you’re vastly underestimating the stock BB has. They just don’t want bots buying ten copies to up-sell on eBay, imo. They also sometimes open up stock for very short windows of time.

I’ll be back once it’s delivered to let your crystal ball ass know you need to clean up the smudges on that glass.

I wonder if retailers are ever going to solve the problem of their (pre-order) customers not being able to use their digital copies until weeks after they're available to people who go digital only.

Several years ago, Best Buy would provide digital codes for certain movies after you placed a pre-order. If you cancelled your pre-order for the physical disc, you were immediately charged for the digital code that had already been given to you (typically $19.99). I haven't seen them do a promo like this in a few years and I wouldn't expect it to happen again given the complicated streaming/theatrical release landscape these days.

I forgot about that. I actually enjoyed those the few times they offered them.

Yeah, I miss that. I really liked when BB offered an early digital copy code with your pre-order of the physical release.

I believe they did it for Venom and Aquaman.
