What a screw up on my part.
Hey Joe. Us old folks have to stick together. LOL

When I seen you say it was $62.00 including shipping and that there were only 4 left for pre order, I felt you made a mistake.

Hi Swervin

So glad you noticed it and that yesAsia does not cancel preorders.

Don't feel bad Joe....but I bet you were excited, then disappointed, about the "price" drop. Just think if "The Suicide Squad" had been released in 3D. I bet every other order would have been for "Suicide Squad"!

Ha. I have to keep a separate file on my computer listing outstanding orders, dates & expected delivery times, since so many anymore are from obscure distributors outside of the US.

If Deadpool 3 is getting 3D as Marvel says, this could hopefully hit blu ray 3D some months after its 2024 release in theaters for Dadpool 3 3D. Marvel shows they care about 3D, but what is the story with 3D blu rays? Japan is the only new release blu ray 3D Marvel option at this time sadly at a high cost, but better than nothing.

Marvels 3D, nice range of medium to strong 3D and the movie was better than I was expecting. It was generally entertaining. I didn't regret seeing it in theaters in 3D The cats scenes was kind of funny too.

I'm not sure what you're rambling about here, but Marvel puts movies out on 3D bluray in Japan only, since Black Widow. Period. We all know this, no need to rehash it. That's "the story" with 3D blurays.

I understand that, but unfortunately there was a change in leadership at Disney that probably ceased Marvel from continuing to offer blu ray 3D in the US and UK, Italy and Germany as we saw in the past. That's what I was complaining about, considering Japan charges twice as much but it's still better than nothing.

There was a change in leadership at Disney since Marvels 3D came out in Japan, and that person hates 3D discs?

Yeah pretty sure they are still self distributing in other territories, but still is a possibility this deal will have some other effects even outside the US/Canada. Still too early to say for sure.

My hope is more catalog titles for one Disney and Fox both, and with Dolby Vision as the expectation on 4K releases which is normal for Sony at this point. One of my concerns, bring on Sony authored Dolby Vision reissues of the entire MCU… my wallet already hurts thinking about it.

On the 3D side, as someone already noted Sony does license titles out, that’s why we got certain Sony titles in 3D from RSM, plus they are much more boutique label friendly in general. I’m hoping the Disney deal allows them to treat the Disney/Fox library in a similar way. There are a bunch of titles that have been needing a good upgrade for awhile, and others like Pirates of the Caribbean that might get a new properly definitive 4K release now as well thanks to Sony. If any titles that have 3D get licensed to a boutique label if this allows, decent chance it might be a 4K + 3D release also, similar to Paramount’s Hugo on Arrow.

It's been going this way for years. There are other threads to discuss the death of 3D blu ray.

There's a news thread now to discuss the Sony/Disney physical media link up so any further discussion will be moved there in order for this thread to get back on topic, which is The Marvels.

Here's the link: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=371384

Yes, but it got to the point where there were pages of it and now that there's a dedicated thread that's where the discussion belongs, otherwise it's the same thing in every thread.

It's not far off The Marvels coming out now and people will want to know when the postage costs drop.

I completely agree on the threads getting out of context. The only problem with the news thread is I for one and probably a lot of others never leave the 3D Blu-ray and 3D Movies forum. Heck I never even knew there was a news forum. LOL
