Well, that's a relief. Thanks. I was about to switch to either a NA steelbook or the NA standard release. I don't know why it's a legal requirement to have those things on the front of every case and ruin the art. You'd think the back cover would be sufficient.

I watched this review, (I found it on my own, before I came back to this thread), and then at the end he tells us he reviewed the Kaleidoscape version, how the file was 103GB or something like that, I was a bit annoyed. Yes it’s more than any disc can hold, sure maybe it’s similar to the disc version, and higher quality than streaming, but the reviewer did not review the disc version which is what most people will be buying, and what I thought I was watching a review about. EDIT: and I’m guessing the reviewer wanted to be the first YT review, and it’s available on K before other reviewers can get a disc copy for review.

Apparently the sequel will not be titled "Dead Reckoning Part Two" anymore.

I feel like if Paramount had more time and the discs weren't already pressed, they would've probably removed that "Part One" from the title card for the home release.

They shot themselves in the foot twice.

1) Not blinking and facing the Barbenheimer behemoth and getting completely smothered.

2) Giving it the alienating Part One title. Even Dune, Spider-Verse knew better than to publicly do this. You never want to give an audience the impression they're only getting half a story for full price. Also, having seen the film (and liking it quite a bit) they could EASILY gotten away with calling this Dead Reckoning and it would still be a satisfying film on it's own. The next film could (and will) follow up the events ala Fallout to Rogue Nation.

The already-pressed physical media is a bummer because physical media collectors are OCD and having it say Part One and then something else next to it will definitely bug some people. I bet re-releases will be sans the Part One title in both the actual film and physical media art/future posters etc.

I wonder if Paramount will quietly remove "Part one" from the title going forward if the second movie is to be retitled?

Paramount re-releases the mission movies on disc with new matching cover art it seems like every few years, so maybe they'll drop the part one title then. Probably do it sooner on streaming and digital.

Absolutely wild for them to put out a part one and then just not call the sequel part two
