If it is even remotely good, I will buy it on 4K disc when released. I will then be one title closer to having every movie ever made.
Watched it last night. I enjoyed it. Much better than the 1984 version. Typical Villeneuve Sci-Fi movie: TONS of eye candy. But it bogs down when there is none. I give it a 4/5 stars.

I watched Dune '84 on 4K disc earlier today and that was a nice presentation. Dune '21 is tonight in IMAX. Right now I'm knocking out episodes of Last Kingdom on Netflix. Damn good show! Just binged the first season. 3 more to go!

I have heard that Last Kingdom is a good show, but then again Netflix had nothing to do with its production. All four seasons are available on Universal blu-rays.

I would love to see Dune 2021 at the theater, but it's not worth the health risk.

Agreed. But it does help to narrow down what genre you are looking at.

I keep saying I have seen all I want to see on HBO Max. Do another of my countless search/browse and low and behold, something appears - and now I'm watching something new (to me) and entertaining.

LOL - my Continue Watching is flooded with TV shows: S1 E1 for like 5 minutes each - me trying to find something that grabs my interest right away.

After watching it at home, I was seriously considering going to see it in Regal RPX, but then I read an article about a man who was fully vaccinated and dies from CV-19 leaving a wife and two kids behind. Nothing on earth is worth that kind of risk to me, especially at my age and health condition.

Redbox Closes Merger With SPAC Seaport Global, Confirms IPO Date

Quote:
Redbox, the 19-year-old entertainment mainstay known for its network of disc-dispensing kiosks, will become a public company on Monday.

The company confirmed the date of its long-planned initial public offering after closing its merger with special-purpose acquisition company Seaport Global. The SPAC deal, announced last May, values the combined company at $693 million.

The network of 40,000-some Redbox kiosks outside grocery stores and other retailers isn’t likely to disappear anytime soon despite the decline of physical disc sales. Data from nearly two decades of kiosk transactions is being used to guide decisions in the company’s expanding production and acquisition arm. It is also informing the rollout of streaming services using transactional on-demand and free, ad-supported models.

Have you seen Night on Earth on Netflix? I liked it quite a lot even though it wasn't all in color.

Yes, we have.

Side note, watched all the David Attenborough narrated content on Netflix unless we have the disc version of that content.

I wouldn't go out of pocket for television Blu-rays, especially when I can just watch them for "free" on Netflix and move my funds to other 4K disc titles. I rarely buy TV on Blu-ray.

Just got back from Dune and it was glorious. Saw it in IMAX (liemax actually) and the OAR did open up to fill the screen in certain scenes. It was great. One of my favorite films of the year. I will probably watch it again tomorrow on HBO MAX. I'll definitely buy the 4K disc when that's released. Also, make no mistake, this will definitely get a Part II -- nevermind how coy the studio might get, it's going to happen.

Redbox is very tempting for me with the $4 Blu Rays they offer for sale.

But, then my kids don't get access to the steaming copies and my nearby Redbox doesn't do the UHD discs yet.

So, .... Keep the UHD BDs releases coming ... I have a feeling I'lll never catch up to all the 4K Blu Ray goodness on offer. It's fun to try.

I have had really good experience with a lot of shows on disc. Video and audio can rival movies as far as quality goes in some cases. Sure, I am not current with all the office talk about the latest episode of fill in the blank, but that does not cause me to lose sleep at night.

I buy tv shows that are one off mini series or shows that are now complete. For example, Bates Motel, The Twilight Zone, The Enfield Haunting, The Office U.K., The Terror (stand alone 1st series) Nature docs (Attenborough) and of course, Twin Peaks.

Did some spot checking last night on HBO Max and the Atmos sound track seemed to be a winner. Plan to watch tonight.

I was just pointing out that the show was available on blu-ray seeing as you said it was a "damn good show." Damn good shows are exactly the kind of shows worth owning on blu-ray.

You can't count on this show staying on Netflix as they don't own it, so if its worth rewatching owning your own copy might be worthwhile.

lol isn't that why even though Walmart sucks at buying disks, they still carry them but they got rid of Vudu
