I hope we get some kick ass Lightsaber fights in this one like we did with the Prequels.

I'm not saying Han, Luke, and Leia will be the stars of the new trilogy, but it's to be expected they'll have a role to play to concretely link the new trilogy to the classic trilogy. If Disney was simply making new generic Star Wars movies, you're right: there would be no need for prior characters/actors to make an appearance. But since they are continuing the established storyline of the past two trilogies, they need to use those same characters. How pissed would people have been if Obi-Wan wasn't in the prequels? Same conceit.
Yes! Its imperative that they incorporate characters and concepts from the previous 6 films into what they do. How they hell could they not?

(I happen to think Portman is actually a good actress - she was just very poorly directed by Lucas). In the first Star Wars movie, Fisher puts on a fake English accent for some scenes and forgets it for most others.
No, they arent likely any worse than Hamill and the gang but they are over exposed and bring nothing to the table themselves. Radcliffe is forever Harry Potter no mater what else he plays in. Stewart is Bella. Thats just the way it goes when you are in a popular film franchise. Portman is a good actress and could out-act Stewart while in a Coma. Stewart isnt even a real actress - good thing shes pretty or she'd be working at Taco Bell or something.

Kind of agree here - although Darth Maul certianly made things interesting at least.

On Sunday, original Star Wars director George Lucas pretty much confirmed to Bloomberg Businessweek that Hayden Christensen will indeed be returning to star in Star Wars: Episode 7, 8, and 9.

“After signing Mark, Carrie and Harrison, we needed Hayden to return as the ghost of Anakin in the next three films,” Lucas told the publication, realizing that might still be top-secret information. “Anakin is an essential character to the Star Wars universe and it is necessary that his role is a major one in Episode 7, 8, and 9. Many fans want to see more of the Jedi ghost world. Ghost Anakin will guide the next generations of Jedis and he will also explain midi-chlorians in greater detail. I can't say much now but expect to see the Midi-Cholorian army battling the ghost Jedi Corps led by Anakin in Episode 9. It should be everything the fans have ever asked for!”

Great - sounds all good to me. Although Im still scared at what could happen with this, it appears that they are at least trying to do some of the right things. If Disney pulls this off it will put Star Wars as a film franchise so far ahead of anything else that it will be untouchable. As if it isnt already.

It sounds like its done on Cartoon Network, but they're going to look for a way to tie up the loose ends, but for all intents and purposes, the show is over. They're going to be doing a new show instead. The show felt like it was winding down anyway, so it was only a matter of time, but I'm still sad to see it go.

I'm a fan and I never asked for a "midicholorian army battling the Ghost Jedi Corp." In fact, this is the first I've even heard of such a suggestion. That synopsis sounds absolutely horrible.

I'm pretty sure his post was all satire.

It would have been better if he included Jar Jar Binks.

so everything is going to be done at the microscopic level?

not really a surprise that they are bringing him back - he was redeemed and is now a spirit. but are they also going to be bringing back others like Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan? if you being back ghost Anakin, there is no reason not to bring them back as well.
