I could have sworn i had seen a video or pic in past of where it was where label got stuck too. But it also said futher up the sleeve lol. I was sure it was as the only two versions was a single disc non limited and 2 disc limited. But at the time needed to be sure. |

I dont get much time to watch them and by time i do it can be watched elsewhere,im a bit of a collector so im probably thinking keeping stuff sealed is worth more if i had to sell them.
But i suppose it depends what it is,some people buy two copies of things one to keep sealed and another to use but that's a bit too expensive for me. There maybe a time when i crack them open but for now they are sealed. I have got tons i not see yet. |

Like i said before; Arrow should make it very clear how many copies have a booklet. For example; On the back of the release limited to 3.000 (so all 3.000 will have a booklet) Indicator does it that way. To me it feels a bit scammy to order for example an Arrow title for the top price but without the booklet. Just make it clear for everybody.
I understand why they dont do it tho, because they know that people will not order when it is pretty clear it comes without a booklet. I think that is the only reason or else they would already change it i guess. |

I always unseal stuff, at least to check the disc is there and the right one and not scratched etc etc.
And I try to ALWAYS read the booklets. Quote:

It is not that hard to put that on the back. I mean other companies do it as well. IF it is a re-release then dont write it on the back, then it is clear that it will not have a booklet etc. |

I think the idea now is leaving it ambiguous means people are more likely to buy titles they want the booklets for earlier, maybe even pre-ordering more titles than they did before. I agree that it's not ideal, and they should at least mention the print-run of booklets for each title, or print a certain amount of copies with mention of the booklet on the reverse. I assume it's actually a logistic decision from the manufacturing process, so they don't have to formally reissue titles once the bookleted copies sell out, and adjust the artwork accordingly. It's very frustrating having to hunt down booklets for some titles - I've had to do it a couple of times now, and I completely gambled on my recent HMV offer (luckily all came with booklets, but I already assumed some of them would since they were released before they decided to cut booklets). If it makes things easier, it looks like they're reissuing a lot of titles as 1-disc Blu-ray editions, presumably as the previous print-runs go OOP. These will no doubt have be booklet-less, but if you happen to get a booklet copy by accident that's obviously a bonus (e.g. some of the more recent titles). PS: you shouldn't have to pay £20 for a release. I wouldn't anyway, in fact most I wouldn't buy for sub-£10, unless it's brand new. I generally pre-order titles I really want, pick up a few more soon after release, and then grab a handful I was less interested in during the sales provided they're cheap (£6-8). |

By the time the concerned titles sell out their first printing, most of the time, they heavily dropped in price, which is why this kind of argument always felt thin to me. Either you wait and pay a relatively lower price (like, say, £8.99) but might not have the booklet, or you don't wait, are sure to get a booklet but will pay more (£12.99 or £14.99). It's only up to you to value accordingly the booklet as a separate extra (is it worth the extra £4 or £6 ?). But Arrow's model regarding this is clearly different than Indicator's one. Arrow's "regular" booklet are not regarded as a "limited" feature in the same way than Indicator does. Indicator first pressing should be seen as a LE, like LEs for The Bird with the Crystal Plumage or Donnie Darko. This isn't the case for Arrow so the comparison isn't totally fair. Don't get me wrong though, I too wish Arrow would be clearer about what is first pressing and what isn't, especially since many people order online and can't check physically the presence or the absence of a booklet. But I don't think the reason you advance is the correct one, and I don't think your comparison is fair. |

Nice! The obi strip reminds me of Death Waltz LP's, which is clearly what they're going for with these. Wonder if they'll do any for a title I actually want though...The Thing already got a soundtrack upgrade from Waxwork recently, so I assume they won't be doing their own one of that (though it did sell out quite quickly so you never know).
