I don't know about you guys, but I don't re-purchase an entire series of SteelBooks just so they will match.
The Future Shop series is nice, but I read that there is no internal artwork. That, and I think I have the last two previous F&F movies on SteelBook already, so I don't plan on repurchasing those. All in all, I prefer the white release over the yellow one. The SteelBook releases that I know of in Canada are: (1) Future Shop yellow SteelBook exclusive (no internal artwork) (2) Walmart white SteelBook exclusive (with bonus Walmart Special Features disc) (3) Best Buy Canada white SteelBook exclusive (with bonus F&F headphones) (4) General white SteelBook available at all major outlets (including Cineplex, Amazon, and Walmart!) I think they are all the same price. You just pick the exclusive that you want the most. I purchased (2) and (3). (3) has yet to ship, but I will likely return one of them. I'm waiting to see what the headphones look like. |

You might be right on the no internal artwork for futureshop exclusives. I heard the BB headphones are the cheap JVC that you can get a dollar store. I'm not a big fan of the floating head and the colors. |

I agree. The movie came out to 18.XX on Cineplex. You subtract the cost of the movie ticket at 12.00. I only paid 6.XX for the movie. I don't know about you, but that is a damn good price for a new movie.

In fact, I live next door to a movie theatre. I have gone in (without a ticket) purchased the popcorn from them and then went home to watch my movie (and yes I know the popcorn is an even bigger rip-off, but it was a complete experience for me). I would rather have the exclusive that I prefer, than compromise on that for a cheaper price, but to each his own. I really don't need to justify to anyone else. I have given in to the 'better deal' in the past and have regretted not getting the 'better edition' to save $2-3 bucks. Last edited by GreatGreg; 12-13-2013 at 05:29 AM. |

Is such and such movie available for $6? No, but someone said that because of his personal application of funny math. |

![]() While I understand your point, I've seen people in the past making posts that they got this movie for $5, and come to find out they used points or a gift card for it. But I have absolutely no problem with people posting deals with 'funny money', as long as they give details about it. It may, or may not, be applicable to me but it might help other posters, and isn't that the whole point of this forum? While my calculated savings aren't 'hard currency' they aren't 'handouts' either. The passes are real, and I will incur the savings at some point. I know by posting a deal that included 'funny money' helped another poster pull the trigger, because he was unaware of the deal at cineplex.com. |

(1) I am not comfortable selling to friends. I will either give it to them for free, or not give it at all. (2) I've had too many lowball offers from people online. $10 for a movie pass? I'll give you $5. Not really worth the hassle for me. I would rather give it away to a deserving friend -- so there goes my 'deal'. Besides, I'm surprised so many of you still go to the theatre. I'm sure many of you have kick-ass HTs (I know I love mine). After going to the movies for two people (not to mention a family) you might as well blind-buy the blu-ray, notwithstanding deals and prices $10 or less. I've been back to the theatre maybe once or twice a year and when I am there I am reminded of how the picture is out of focus or the sound is way too loud, and if I miss some key dialogue, I can't rewind it and put on the captions. Not to mention that I can watch whatever I want at 3 AM or when the mood suits me. I used to be a theatre-goer, but the tickets are overpriced now, IMO. By the way, I can fall asleep watching my movie with popcorn on my pyjamas in the morning. Can't do that in the theatre! |
