I have no clue :\ Mine was literally canceled just now. They usually just lower the price, not cancel orders. They still let you put the movie in the shopping cart, but you can't checkout. Like they oversold on pre-orders or this is just a glitch.

I just received a similar email message from Target about my preorder of the blu-ray book version and cannot complete a replacement order at Target's website. I have no idea what's happening.

I was getting ready to order this too. Hopefully they'll still have it in stores on Tuesday.

Didn't they do the same thing with ET steelbook pre-orders? Doesn't make sense.

My Amazing Spider-Man steelbook that I ordered from Best Buy pretty much came in a silver colored plastic envelope with no protection period but it was still in really great condition, so I would say that steelbooks are more resilient to being damaged in the mail as long as they are handled properly by the mail people instead of roughly.

You're right. It is exactly what they did with the E.T. steelbook. On the plus side, that means the stores will most likely be getting a ton of them. Our Target still has the E.T. steels even tho they came out a month an a half ago. Just like our Best Buy still has the Spidey steelbooks. Weird, huh?

I have a feeling there will be far fewer TDKR digibooks lying around the stores than E.T. steelbooks. TDKR will be a far more popular title upon release.

But yes, there will likely be some stock that survives for a little while, especially if they did a massive manufacturing run.

The Dark Knight Rises DigiBook is no longer pulling up on the website. When you click on the link for the DigiBook it says "This item is not published." I really hope that it still gets released.

If somehow something goes awry, they'll have a lot of explaining to do seeing as next week's ad has it listed. I wouldn't count on it not being released though.

My other question still remains (from a few pages back):

Is there ANY US based TDKR bluray that has a Special Features Bonus disc (a separate bluray bonus disc like the one in TDK bluray) ?

The standard combo pack is set up that way.

No-one who's talking has yet seen the BB freebie. It might be on a disc, but it appears more likely that it's a download only deal.
Well I just pre-ordered the steel book and they sent me an email with containing a link and code to the documentary.

The bonus disc is also included in the trilogy boxset. Checked out the Batmobile documentary last night; pretty cool stuff. Shows that Jeff Dunham (the ventriloquist) bought one of the Keaton Batmobiles and we get the odd sight of him filling it up at a gas station. Regular of unleaded?

Dissapointed in the documentary covering TDKR. Very little in the way of behind-the-scenes footage - often we just get still images with voice-overs from cast and crew.

Your avatar cracks me up! Funniest scene from Airplane!

Anyway, yeah my Target order was cancelled too...just like the ET SB. This time you can't go back and reorder it, at least I tried just now and it's not even listed. Not sure if that will change?
I, strongly, suggest going to Target when the open(if you can), and pick one up. I did this with the ET SB and they had plenty there. Obviously this is a YMMV situation, but the earlier you can get there, the better your chances!
I have no idea what store quantities of this are going to be. I'm hoping it will be more than ET(my store had about ~20).
Clearly Target hasn't figured out how to manage their big exclusive BDs yet!
