That's a bummer but licenses have to eventually lapse. Remember when the only OOP KLSC title was The Hurricane (1937).

Sorry to read that. So that would include Gold (1974). While not a classic, I consider it a helluva entertaining 70s film. I have the KL blu and would recommend it to anybody. I expect my pre-order of Ffolkes to ship from Deep Discount tonight. Hopefully Ffolkes will break that trend for you KL Insider.
And MAN WHO HAUNTED HIMSELF.

It's about time! Great movie. Do we know if the commentary from the DVD will be ported over? I'd hate to have to keep both. Thanks.

Yes, but none of these have expired or will expire before 2021. We're just not printing more of these if they end up selling out, so technically these have become limited editions till our deals expire for them. And more to come.

The rights to The Hurricane had gone to Warner Brothers, as part of their Samuel Goldwyn deal.

I'm glad I got Gold and The Naked Face in the recent site wide KLSC sale. The plot was a little hard to follow at first in The Naked Face but it comes together well after sticking with it. Also, loved Gold. Sad to hear the Roger Moore films haven't sold well, since he was such a great actor in his non 007 roles. I've pre-ordered Street People and will have to get ffolkes and The Man Who Haunted Himself(which I had in my cart during the sale, but ended up taking it out).

There are also a few others I liked, but I wanted to save the frown emoji for the ones I liked the most.
that's ironic about Roger Moore. I've bought all of his titles from KINO and usually right away. Ffolkes is already on it's way to me--- Street People is about to be pre-ordered. I've recently added The Man Who Haunted Himself and Gold to my collection. I like Roger Moore and enjoy seeing his films...

Glad I got the Hurricane while you had it. I wish Warners would get more of the Goldwyn titles out and sooner rather than later.

Some of these titles going on moratorium are real gems and Kino has been a godsend for rescuing some fairly obscure flicks that never would have seen a blu release otherwise. It's really sad to hear so many aren't selling well. I'll continue to be a supporter of physical media as long as I have means and I'm grateful for all the work Kino has done and continues to do.

Rod Steiger is incredible in "The Naked Face", just sustained psychotic intensity. From the list posted earlier, I particularly enjoyed "Absolution". It's a strange, dark film with Richard Burton playing a deeply conflicted priest.

I think part of the issue is they release so many, that even for niche and hardcore collectors and film buffs. It's hard to keep up, and I know for me personally when a title is "unremastered" and I'm also unfamiliar with the film I'll tend to dismiss that release without even really looking too much into it.

But on the other hand, for fans of certain films or actors (or whatever) it gives them a chance to own a particular they might not otherwise have had. Obviously not every film is going to get new 4K scans, so on many of them it's a bit of a "this or nothing" scenario, so I appreciate at least that Kino has given a window to own some of these films even if they didnt' sell well.

Well we knew a James Woods title was coming which pretty much had to be this, and when the Insider said it wasn't one of the most desired 80s StudioCanal titles (Extreme Prejudice, Deep-Star Six and Tender Mercies being the most obvious), that left about a 1 in 3 chance of it being The Black Marble.

Just purchased this new release and was wondering if the Insider could tell me if this blu-ray had a slipcover. It's Gkids first partnering with Kino so even though all their previous releases have had them this one may not, but for peace of mind and OCD calming I'm hoping to get a definitive answer.

Gkids page shows a mock-up with one https://gkids.com/wp-content/uploads...-HMV-FINAL.jpg but it's the only place I've found that suggests one may exist.

I'm also in the camp that recommends Funny Bones to those who enjoy offbeat comedies with an admiration and a respect for the comedy and comedic legends of yesteryear (Chaplin, Keaton, Lloyd, Langdon, etc).

Sad to see all of those titles go but kudos to Kino for giving us all the heads up. From the list provided, I've already nabbed the ones I'd want to own (including Funny Bones, of course, but also Absolution, The Naked Face and the Bob Hope starrer Paris Holiday).

In the day and age of dwindling physical media, we can be grateful that labels like Kino exist. They'll provide the films we love with bonus features and new scans, when they're able to, for a period of time and then when those are no longer available, the label will pick up new titles from new deals and we can nab the ones we want from there before those too (possibly) go out of print. We're the last generation of physical media buyers anyway. Might as well acknowledge and accept it. Thanks again, Kino!
