Definitely jumping on The Godfather set. Thinking about the Vikings set too.

Already placed my order for the standard set. Don't need the swag as long as the disc content is the same. I skipped these movies on Blu so can't wait to have them in hand.

Right there with ya. I am glad I held off. Lets hope they do these classics justice.

My Redbox kiosks have them and they also sell used 4K discs, as well.

‘Godfather’ Trilogy Debuts on 4K Ultra HD March 22

Quote:
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather, all three films in the epic trilogy have been restored under the direction of Coppola and will be made available on 4K Ultra HD for the first time on March 22. Also, Paramount Pictures will give the film a limited theatrical release in Dolby Vision beginning Feb. 25 exclusively in Dolby Cinema at AMC Theatres in the United States, as well as in international territories around the world.

Newly restored and remastered in Dolby Vision, all three films in the landmark trilogy will be released together with HDR10 on 4K Ultra HD Digital and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray for the first time ever. The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray set will include The Godfather, The Godfather: Part II, and Coppola’s recently re-edited version of the final film, Mario Puzo’s The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone. The disc set includes legacy commentaries by Coppola, as well as access to digital copies of The The Godfather, The Godfather: Part II and Mario Puzo’s The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone.

For projector users with scope screens, I have graphics on thumb drives for the Opp and Sony. They are used to zoom between 1.78 and 2.35 and vice versa. The original drawing is vector with some pixel content added, the composite is exported as a 600 DPI TIF file then converted to a 3840 X 2160 PNG. You can download and paint in any content you desire. A gotmule one below:

My only purchase so far this year:

On the fence about whether or not to get:

I think that my purchases this year will hit a record low.

I thought that last year and I ended up with a record amount.

For the record, I have read many comments saying the 3D for Dune was underwhelming.

Hated Red and it’s sequel. Loved Cabin In The Woods.

Two strikes against the 3-D version, 3-D not native, it is post process and no Dolby Atmos. . One would think of all places to use immersive audio it would be on a 3-D release. What jugheads.

I watched Tragedy of MacBeth last night on ATV+ in 4K DV/Atmos and it was fantastic. Great film and great presentation! Highly recommended if you have the service.

I went to my video store today and rented Hamlet on BD (Branagh's version), Looking for Richard (Al Pacino DVD), and Raging Fire on BD with Donnie Yen. We have a long weekend, so I will be busy.

John Malkovich makes these movies worthwhile purchases in my mind. Laugh out loud sort of stuff.

5 disc Craig set just popped up on Amazon. Had a feeling it was around the corner with the 4 disc priced at $30 for the last few days.

Wow, .... I am curious about the type of digital copy it comes with. It does say Canada gets no 4K from the code.

If it's iTunes only that will be interesting. (It says multiple retailers but does not mention Movies Anywhere) I think it's iTunes or Vudu.

Personally I love iTunes and if you keep Vudu then it's even better because of course something is going to be on one and not the other. Vudu seems more reliable.
