As posted by the Digital Bits (here) another old favorite of ours, Last of the Dog Men is coming to Blu-ray. Quite a few other catalog titles announced.

Lol, I went to DiabolikDVD to check out the pre-orders for 12 Monkeys and Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer UHD's and what do I see:

It wasn't there as of 5pm yesterday and now it's already sold out. Of course, I assume that price is wrong. If I do get picked from the wait list and it's that price I'll keep my Via Vision pre-order.

Worth every penny!

Seriously though, good luck.

Maybe AFTER I acquire a Panasonic UB9000.

This movie or the best disc player currently made ? ... I already have a disc player but still that's a tough decision.

The price must indeed be wrong but if not, what do the scalpers hope to mark it up to? I think I should try to at least see this movie.

Maybe the deluxe version comes with a NFT or better yet a slip cover.

You really should, I’m biased but it’s one of those films every film lover should see before they die. (Just down bother with the atrocious remake/reimagined Nic Cage version.)

First thing that pops up everywhere I look is the remake.

This bothers me like when "All By Myself" is credited to Celine Dion even though it existed for 21 years by Eric Carmen before she recorded it.

I think I'll buy the regular Blu and check it out it got good marks for AV and it's one of those $14 ones.

When I'm king.... the original of whatever will be listed first!

One of those remakes that you wish stayed in development hell.

It was like watching a kid with crayons recreating a classic painting. They completely missed everything that was great about the original.

I’m looking forward to seeing if you and Ender think it’s as great as I do.

I ordered what I now understand is a middle version.

It has the original and a few bits extra but it's not the director's cut.

I'll let you know. Though it isn't released until April so it may be a while.

If I wanted to watch something earlier like a sports event I would, but I would leave it on. I knew turning the Lamp on and off shorten the life, but I always had a spare Lamp. So you would turn your TV on and off like a regular TV and not worry about changing out the Lamp? How long did you have that TV, and how many Lamps did you change out?

4 lamps if I remember correctly kept it until I went 4k.

I just believe you buy stuff to use it and it should be there to enrich your life not limit yourself. I am the opposite of of one om my BILs. every time he buys something new he is anal about it to preserve it's newness. When he bought a new couch the dog was not allowed on it any more, people were not allowed to eat or drink while sitting on it....

That's fine, but I didn't realize my Mitsubishi DLP TV had a Lamp until the first one burned out. No TV for a few days until I ordered one from Mitsubishi cost was around $170. Then I found out I could save by ordering from other Sellers, and also reuse the Housing. So I had that TV for 17-18 years, and changed out around 5 Lamps. Yes, I replaced it with my Sony 4K in 2017.

So now I do more research to know the limitations and benefits. Knowing as much as possible on your costly purchase.

yup people need to know what they are buying.

But what happened with the first lamp? Never had the Mitsubishi DLP but I had RPTV and several FP and bulbs normally just age and emit less light and so the picture gets darker (so you tweak up the brightness and order a new bulb).

It sounds like something went wrong if it just stopped working one day.

Nah that’s normal. Have encountered many projectors with 2000+ hours which bulbs just die out one day.

True. Had one die a month ago with just 1100 hours. In my old JVC projector had a lamp explode, at least there was no projector damage.

did not mean to imply it was unheard off and nothing wrong with always having a spare bulb I was just curious how it went for him and explained how I work with my projectors

FPs are also a bit more temperamental because they are less stable and ventilation is a bigger problem.

yikes, glad it did not damage the projector.
