Genuinely shocked at just how pathetic dark force has become. The constant shilling was bad enough but now they're just scraping the underside of the barrel. It says a lot that rather than let their products sell based on quality they are instead trying to create drama to sell shit like Chaos. Remove the Code Red content and all they have is some piece of shit films made by a director with no talent.

I don’t know how anyone could be shocked after the idiotic Coroner’s Office extra on the original Chaos DVD. DeFalco conducts himself like a complete jackass.

To watch the extras on Chaos would mean having to rent or purchase the piece of shit. I saw 15 minutes of Chaos when a friend was watching it and that was 14 minutes and 45 seconds too much. He only had it because he ordered the Statham Chaos and was sent the wrong film, so the retailer told him keep it. He figured why not watch it and quickly realized that they were not doing him a kindness and most likely realized no one was voluntarily buying the film so as well to get rid of at least one copy.
The disc went in the bin. Genuinely an awful film.

You are most definitely in the wrong thread if you are expecting high art with super talented directors from code red / dark force. Most of the stuff with high profile directors code red passes on to scorpion as it better fits their label.

Code red is about fun, sleazy, low budget, and/or exploitative horror and action films from the 70s-80s. Dark Force has added some of the same from the 90s on. I thought Chaos was decent, a lot better than some of the generic IFC modern indies scream factory puts out.

The fact cr/df is still trucking means they are doing something right.

No shit Sherlock. Here was me thinking that Code Red and dark force specialised in prestige film. Thanks for taking the time to come in and explain to all us what they do, I was about to ask if df could get Schindler's List but now I know.

Is it difficult being a mouth piece for such a shitty company? Does your jaw get sore from swallowing and regurgitating so much shit.

As for saying that they are doing something right, are they? Last time I looked CR are all but dead and df are only still going because they realised that they can abuse Bill and make a buck off a sad old man. Neither has a store up and running and df upcoming slate of announced releases is pathetic. Scorpion, VS, Arrow and so on are doing good, CR and df are pathetic in comparison.

Seemed you needed an explanation since you expressed a need for films by talented directors literally 2 posts up.

Is it difficult making post after post complaining about a label you obviously dont like? Maybe better off in Criterion or Cohen films thread? Why are you here if the label bothers you so much?

Nothing new for code red direct. Years ago the only way to get movies from them averaged a 2 month wait to get your movie, that is assuming it was open (was not uncommon to be closed for long periods). Code red does direct business differently than other labels, small quantities and low overhead. Anything higher quantity gets distrod by Kino to mail order outlets.

That extra feature was legendary in reviews instantly and regarded as one of the most idiotic things a filmmaker could do. He actually cut a pro-wrestling promo on Roger Ebert from the LA County Morgue, dresses in his Demon ring gear and oiled up like he was building for a match on XPW or something.

This made me like Dark Force more given the combination of how ridiculous and inappropriate it was.

I find it funny people get on some moral soapbox with this morgue promo then proceed to buy and watch tons of amoral code red sleaze with much worse things going on in them.

Please show me this post where I expressed a need for films by talented directors literately 2 posts up? I think that swallowing so much shit has affected your reading ability.

What post after post, the only one here with post after post is you. I've never seen a man with such a hard on for defending a man they claim to not know.

I thought this was a discussion forum and not the let's get in line to shill for df. Why do you spend so much time shitting on other labels?

Your ability to tell us all what we know already is only matched by your ability to stand up for the shoddiest of labels. If VS or Arrow operated like df do, you'd be all over them and calling them out at every opportunity. You call out Arrow for the smallest of issues and then attack anyone who calls out CR and df for shit like The Carrier debacle. You're either a shill or the saddest, most pathetic fan boy around.

I'm getting a feeling that isn't actually the title though. I can only hope I'm dead wrong.

It makes sense to post lots of good things about a label you like in its thread. It makes little sense to keep complaining about it and thread crapping, especially as code red has operated the way they do for a decade. DF is simply the latest business partner, nothing DF is doing is any different than previous code red behavior other than DF shipping stuff very fast.

Other than arrow go ahead and find posts about 2 labels i "spend time shitting on." Good luck, as thats a false claim you wont be able to provide any proof for, as the posts dont exist.

If you want a label that operates like VS or Arrow then buy VS and Arrow. If you dont like code red dont buy it, code red never was like VS/Arrow and likely never will be. This logic isnt rocket science.

Also yes, The Carrier Directors Cut was an excellent film, a far better cut than the previously only available theatrical cut. I understand people who like the theatrical cut being upset, but frankly if youve watched both I think most would prefer the directors cut as a film.
