Since when did Lowry have a hand in the old THX masters?!?

[edit] Dug out my old Jan 1994 copy of Video Watchdog and it says that Paintbox (a Quantel joint) was used to clean up the movies frame by frame and they also employed some form of anti-aliasing. Unless mike is saying that Lowry also had a hand in the clean-up/mastering of those old non-anamorphic transfers onto DVD in 2006? First I've heard of it.

According to Chris Taylor's 'How Star Wars Conquered the Universe' it does, but after a quick Google search I came across this article: http://mashable.com/2015/12/17/star-wars-original-cut/ which makes it a little unclear as to whether it is 35mm prints or negatives that they actually have as the first quote from Mike Mashon says 35mm prints, then later a 2K scan of the negative is mentioned (although not a direct quote this time).

What is so stupid about all this is that George Lucas doesn't seem to realise that had someone come to Star Wars without seeing any of the others in the series they would wonder who on earth the three 'ghost' they are looking at are?

Seen in the US thread some pics of today's release, two types of releases to hold the three discs.

Seeing as those who imported from .ca should get theirs tomorrow (2 days was the timeline going by posts) be good to see some pics tomorrow.

Also see the 4K release now has a November date, so I might hold fire and order that in case I ever go fully 4K, as I know in the past Star Wars releases can go oop.

Mine from .ca is still saying 'Preparing for Shipment'. Hopefully won't be to long now.

Going by all the posts about importing this early, it was a two day arrival wasn't it? Should be tomorrow.

Going for UK release with darkside slip. Can then sell both once slip oop and buy the 4K release in November.

For those who have seen this, is it particularly dark/violent? My daughter's nearly 5 and I was hoping to watch it with her.

I've pre-ordered it (UK version), but I don't know if it's fairly light and fluffy like the original Star Wars, or much darker in tone like the last two.

Thanks.

No way is it as dark as Revenge. Yeah, there is some dark stuff, but it is more of a fun romp.

They sent via a 2 day courier so assuming they dispatch in the next few hours it should be here Thursday.
