For projector people it should be a nonissue.
Although I've temporarily lost the ability to display 3D until I update all my 3D gear to the standard of my new JVC, I can confirm that my 2017 SHIELD definitely supports 3D.

The newer DOLBY engine in the ZIDOO has me intrigued though. I'm wondering if I should wait and see what NVIDIA comes up with or jump on it now. If it was available and shipped through AMAZON. CA with my PRIME membership, I'd buy and audition it but it seems to come over via a slow boat from China and a return would be a hassle..

A single occurrence of a comedian being slapped hardly constitutes a new norm. One case does not a trend make.

Not all crimes result in charges, yet alone prosecution. Law enforcement does not have infinite resources; they literally have to pick and choose which cases warrant their time and effort. Sometimes they choose well and sometimes they don't, but that's how it is in the real world.

Here is a crime that I partially witnessed:
[Show spoiler]There was a young lady that lived next door to me 7 years ago. She was pregnant and her boyfriend drove her head through the wall four times AND punched her in the abdomen. He then took a knife and slit her car's tires. I witnessed him slitting her tires and had already called the police when I heard her screams. It was later learned that he beat her often.

He was arrested and jailed. She went to the hospital. A few days later she decided not to press charges. The state's attorney dropped the case and let him go free. Worse still, she got back together with him because he was the father of her unborn child. I will never understand why the state set him free or why she, an expectant mother, would want anything more to do with him.

I haven't seen this show, but you can give it a test drive if you have Amazon Prime or Hulu. They offer all six seasons.

I always get caught when I take a post shortcut. AFAIK, the Shield will not do frame packed 3D like BD 3D does. It can do side by side or top over bottom 3D. BD 3D is full resolution both eyes, streaming, Shield, etc. is ½ H or ½ V resolution.

Do you have the adapter and 3D glasses for your new JVC?

Friend, we can agree to disagree. As I mentioned earlier, I have, on more than one occasion, been the beneficiary of law enforcement not having the resources to try every case. I have absolutely no moral high ground to judge Will Smith. I have done much worse under similar circumstances when I was a younger man and full of piss and vinegar...

But to characterize this as JUST a random comedian getting slapped is way out of bounds...72 hours out from the incident...EVERY single child in America with access to the internet has seen this. The almost subconscious knowledge that there have been no consequences from law enforcement is both a concession that this behavior is already acceptable and a powerful reinforcement that future escalating violence has not reached the threshold of warranting a response.

I'm still sourcing out the new 3 D gear.... ironically I think I had suitable gear with an older projector that I gave away...

Anyways, with the new projector and screen, I'm approaching the nexus of WAF and budgetary constraints. So I'm weighing my next purchase option (3D gear vs ZIDOO player) carefully ...lol..

Children with internet access have seen far greater injustices than this sad incident over the last 72 hours. While there have been no repercussions in a court of law, Will Smith continues to suffer far more severe consequences in the court of public opinion and far exceeding any punishment he would have received for a misdemeanor assault charge. Every watching child can see the ongoing damage to Will Smith's reputation. Will Smith being shamed on every social media platform probably acts as more of a deterrent than seeing a millionaire actor paying a tiny court fine ever would.

I was not referring to this being a random incident, either, but rather an isolated one. I am confident that if I were to slap a comedian that I would probably get my arse kicked AND arrested, too.

Vilya, you and I have a different level of faith in the ability of the court of public opinion to mete out justice...

Maybe so, but my cynicism tells me that rich people paying trivial fines for their bad behavior is no deterrent to anyone. It just demonstrates that if you have money, you can afford to be a jackass.

Knocked out the first episode of Moon Knight on Disney+. Outside of the dodgy speed chase (you'd think they would invest money into the horrid CGI in these chases) the episode was really cool! The 4K DV/Atmos was great, as well.

Also, I just noticed that season 5 of The Last Kingdom premiered on Netflix March 9. I somehow missed that, so I will be binging that next, as in right now!

On the 4K disc front - I watched Last Waltz this morning and it was a great 4K disc by Criterion.

Is it ever. I own the Eureka BD from a couple of years ago and that was great. This one is phenomenal by comparison. IMO

When your so rich they make you pay no money instead of a trivial amount of money for being a jackass.

Disney+ just pulled something with Falcon Winter Soldier that should make EVERYONE see physical media and Blu-Ray is always better. Even though they say its a mistake they removed violence and blood from an episode(yet still have not fixed it). It still happened. Something that could never happen on a physical release. Another huge reason why physical media will always be number 1.

As far as I understood it, they only did so via the children's access point. I know when they ported over the rated R stuff from Netflix they made it so adults had to enter a new pin number to gain access to their viewing library.

EDIT - I was right, so let's keep the hyperbole down next time.

What do people think about DVDs these days? I am really surprised they are still making them. But there are a few movies I own where it's only on DVD if you want physical and I think staking a long-term collection on a digital service is short-sighted.

Let me know how you get on with these. The Zidoo Z9X is even cheap and the zappiti looks neat also.

I don't necessarily buy them anymore unless it's a really high-want or something that was never released on BD or 4K disc. My local library has tons of DVDs and I do check them out in a sort of a try before you buy method. We also have lots of Criterion DVDs and some have never made it to BD or went OOP.

DVDs are an efficient way to knock out what you may have not seen or to try before buying it on a superior format. You'll still get anamorphic and 5.1 sound for the most part. They come in handy in a time crunch, as well.
