There's no easy way to track it. My usual method is to wait for at least one month AFTER THE DELIVERY DATE before I contact the vendor. They might send a replacement once, but they can't be expected to repeatedly send it, especially if you ask replacements for consecutive orders.

Has anyone knw about the site dessertcar.in they r shippng US products to India!? I saw Panasonic UB 820 K model!? Is that player is region free for BDs !??

Panasonic UB820 is not region-free out of the box. You have to buy a modded version if you want region-free. However, there seems to be a top menu trick that seems to work for playing several other-region discs. You can get the details by searching for the same in Google, but there is no guarantee that all other-region discs will work using this trick.

I have used desertcart.in only once for purchasing a small low-value electronic product. I used their free 1-month trial of Pro membership to save on shipping & handling charges. It worked fine. Can't comment on high-value purchases like the UB820.

Got 10 of the 11 discs I'd ordered from Rarewaves a month ago. They were shipped separately (at the most 3 in a box) and were not charged any duties. On the other hand the Wallace Krimi set I ordered from Eureka got *itch-slapped with 45% duty (around 2700rs)

I got 5 of the 6 titles ordered from Rarewaves in a single package last week with customs duty of ₹2,951 applied! That's a little more than 60% of the order value for those titles

I don't understand how the FPO calculates the customs duty!

Shipping cost is also added while calculating duty.

Yeah, but the cost for those 5 items including shipping was £41.32. So, a duty of ₹2,951 (around £25.60 in today's rate) is excessive. It is possible that they slapped the duty on the total order value of £49.29 (including for the 6th item which was not in that package) since Rarewaves for some reason provides that detail also on the customs declaration form. Even in this case, the applied duty works out to about 52% which is more than the official 42.08% that should ideally be charged.

It's not just the customs duty, it's the GST for personal use goods (which is added to what's collected from you) that's the real killer. You should've gotten the bifurcation with the package, check that out.

when did you place the order?
Even i placed my order on July 1st to Bangalore and it was dispatched on July 5th but still did not receive it, i hope it arrives at least in the next month

Hopefully, the final rate of import duty applied for Blu-rays will come down from 42.08% to 30.98% if all the recommendations of the 56th Meeting of the GST Council that happened yesterday are adopted as is.
