I don't think you can prove its a defect, it may be like that by design.

But seriously... it's a fraction of a millimetre off centre. You can't even tell unless you are close enough to blow your nose on it!
Yeah I did show them a picture. I uploaded the same pic that I showed here. Compared to Sithlord75's pics, mine is clearly off centre.

We'll see what they say. I'm not expecting miracles, but the last time I messaged someone about a wonky spine it was replaced sharpish (Entertainment Store when my Hobbit DoS EE steel had a wonky spine).

I'll be interested in their reply.

Thanks!

my 2 copies arrived in mint condition though the spin look no different to all my other off centre disney's

i got 2 due to grahamzxy (#312) convincing me to use the bank holiday voucher code was a good thing to do lol ( i am easily led astray )

is the zavvi one any different to the nova lenti variant? i havent opened the nova one yet?.

**UPDATE** just looked again and my 2 copies are both dead centre so i must be one of the lucky ones.

I have 2 copies of this. When I looked over both of them to decide which one to keep I didn't notice any off centre spine. In fact I thought they looked both exactly the same. I just checked the one I opened and its spine is off centre. But the one I kept wrapped is centred. You don't notice until you know what to look for. I don't know what to do with my copies now. I'm not OCD enough to care right now that the one I'm keeping is off centre. But at the same time I don't want to get rid of the perfect one.

my spine is definately off centre. Typical of poor quality zavvi releases. I have had 4 steelbooks from them this week all damaged due to delivery or poor manufacture. I haven't had any issues with them before but now it is getting silly and I am beginning to realise why everyone complains so much on here about them. I might just return Big Hero 6 and wait for Blufans, plus maybe return Wall-E (as I have blufans already) and Ratatouille due to the future 3D releases

Forgive the ignorance, but what exactly is "wrong" with that spine title??

What should it look like then otherwise? Anyone with "correct" spine placement pics for comparison sake?
Looks centered enough to me in the pics posted thus far..?

It's not ignorance on your part, it's your lack of OCD that does not allow you to see the spine the way some people see it. Thank the lord you are not burdened with that affliction.

I like to think of it more as unrealistic high standards than an affliction lol

Ok I checked mine and its perfectly centered. Therefore definitely an alignment issue with the machine that makes the spines.

I suppose I could lie and say my opened copy with the uncentred spine has a faulty disk and just keep my unopened copy which has a perfect spine. Thats one of the reasons I sometimes order 2 copies to make sure I get a perfect copy. I just find it strange that I didnt notice it when I was comparing them to decide which copy to keep.

Damn you guys for pointing it out. If you hadnt I probably wouldnt have noticed. Ignorance is bliss and all than.

And I thought that I was OCD about my steelbooks. This is a whole nother level of the condition all up in this thread. Seriously, is millimetres really enough to make people return these? That is beyond excessive. Be grateful that the title is fully visible... and that there is a title at all!

You know, it's this kind of ridiculousness that is going to make retailers start producing spines without titles en mass in order to avoid the excessive returns due to minutia misalignments caused by Scanavo's equipment... which is completely out of the retailers control.

So, blame Scanavo, not Zavvi.

It's not excessive! I sent items back for much less imperfections. When I spend my hard earned money, then I want to get a mint copy without any imperfections.

I know that if my copy was misaligned and somebody had a good one I would feel hard done by. But if everyone had a misaligned copy I wouldn't care as much.
