Based on the press release, could this end up being 7-Discs?
Disc 1. Mad Max (Blu-ray) Disc 2. Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (Blu-ray) Disc 3. Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome (Blu-ray) Disc 4. Mad Max: Fury Road (Theatrical Edition: Blu-ray) Disc 5. Mad Max: Fury Road ("Black & Chrome" Edition: Blu-ray) Disc 6. Mad Max: Fury Road (Theatrical Edition: 4K Ultra HD) Disc 7. Bonus Disc (All newly announced content + "Madness of Max" documentary: Blu-ray)? Or 8-Discs... If they leave "Madnes of Max" on a DVD, and press a separate blu-ray/DVD disc for the newly announced bonus features. |

So, a question (or rather, two questions):
1. Will both The Madness of Max and Road War documentaries be in full HD this time around (both were produced within the past year or two), and: 2. Why no documentary for Beyond Thunderdome? Hell, they already have a ready-to-go vintage piece that came out waaaaay back in 1985 (that's also up on YouTube) that they could've slipped onto a disc, even SD: The shorter, 35-minute version is the YouTube copy, but a fuller, hour-long edition also exists, and was broadcast on TV (I remember watching it back in the day). While you make a good point, I'm skeptical they'd press a new disc of Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, when it took them 6 years to remaster the movie for it's 2nd Blu-ray release; which they then included in both the Trilogy set, and the Anthology set.

I just don't get the hate for it. I mean, Road Warrior and Fury Road are obviously far better, but it's got so many great, memorable aspects and it has one of the best traditional movie scores ever written!

Beyond Thunderdome is perfect..... until Max meets the kids. It's game over from there on.

I did say "probably." They might be putting out the new disc in North America, but the press release is too vague to definitively know at this point.

Mad Max - no change The Road Warrior - adds a new documentary Beyond Thunderdome - adds a new documentary Fury Road - no change Fury Road: Black & Chrome Edition - new presentation and extras The Madness of Max - no change, still a DVD So the US release should be seven discs as it includes the 4K UHD of Fury Road theatrical. |

Well I'm in for the big set for all the extras. I really hope they put the Madness of Max and Road Warrior documentaries on a bluray in HD. Hoping we get some Thunderdome bonus features since they already exists. This could be the ultimate Mad Max set. Don't blow it Warner.

It ranks last in the series for me. I'm fine with it until after the Thunderdome fight. I find it mostly worthless after that.
