Did a sneak preview of THTV tonight.

Those color fluctuations people are talking about, I watched in slow motion and to my guess would be this film had mold all over it that was cleaned off, but mold damaged some of the film over time prior to removal.

This is not a sterling presentation but not terrible either. I have seen far, far worse code red titles. Given the rarity of the flick probably best its ever looked on home video. It is actually very highly detailed despite a lot of damage to the element.

Drive in mode, I was not pleased chaos was mixed in with the 70s trailers. I understand need to cross market but it just doesn't fit that great. Otherwise pretty good idea I'd like to see enhanced further.

I know who really owns this film and I do know that a couple of well-respected genre labels are speaking with them on releasing the correct version for awhile now, I can't say anymore but I could tell you that this disc is not going to be worth anything in a few month

Has to be arrow. They have a couple of Larraz titles in the pipeline.

Well, that is really good news Walt.
Makes spending $20 on a magnet a little less tangy.

Jesse Nelson at Diabolik mentioned he knew someone who owned three prints of THTV and two of them ran under 90 minutes. Since the presskit states the US release runtime is approximately 99 minutes, the best possible argument to be made for Dark Force's source material is that a regional distributor trimmed the film to under 90 minutes to allow it to play on double or triple bills. Even then, it would not have been an authorized alternate cut...just something done on a regional level.

I'm still going to keep this double feature because of The Eerie Midnight Horror Show, but I'll definitely be following the updates regarding a proper release of The House That Vanished with great interest.

Doubtless Dork Farce will still sell a few copies at $50 a pop billed as a ‘super-rare collectible!!!’ bundled with CHUD 2 sticker pak and autographed photo of the Budweiser ‘Wazzup’ Guys.

I thought they might give you your own, like Damon Packard. But you probably are due some compensation for your sleuthing in light of their unsanctioned use of your post.

Looks like all of the initial releases are getting re-released cover art with numbered spines.

Offerings arrived from Amazon to me with the old cover...

Meh, who cares. Does anyone really care about this or seriously commit to collecting a perfect 100% of a label's output where a numbered spine would matter?

Many a releases are planned but some that are planned end up never seeing the light of day due to rights issues or financial issues. Definitely keeping my THTV disc until completely superceded by an all around better version, if/when that might be.

I dunno despite having a ridiculous amount of movies I've never felt I needed to have every single release and cover/spine of any label - and I don't sort by label because its a pain to find anything in a large collection that way.

That's what I desperately want, some better shelving. I kept up with Vinegar Syndrome for a while, and grabbed most of the early Code Red and Scorpion releases, but it quickly got to be too much. The only thing I didn't miss a single one of was Ascot Elite's hardbox releases of all the Jess Franco and Erwin Dietrich films that they did them for. All limited to 66 copies each. That was some serious stress and a definite financial burden at often inconvenient times. I'm glad to have them, but I certainly won't do anything like that again.

Not sure if this has been mentioned

Per the Dark Force Entertainment FB...

Zsolt Farkas
“You could also just not pull the release and let people buy it if you want them to sell. This whole situation seems kind of unnecessary, who cares if people ***** that it's cut wouldn't you prefer the product to sell regardless?”

Dark Force Entertainment
“It's not getting repressed like the other titles and we want to keep a good amount of them for ourselves

True scalper behavior.

Creating a scarcity and then selling them for an inflated price.

Disgusting tactics

I hope nobody buys this bullshit
