Per The Digital Bits, it appears Titanic will finally receive a UHD release this year, along with several other Cameron films.

They didn't do anything with Avatar too.

I'll take that as a speculation and nothing concrete, I could get the same answer from talking to myself.

Less speculation, more confirmation from Jon Landau.

I only hope that....if....all these Cameron back catalog titles come out, especially Titanic, that they aren't slathered with DNR. Considering this is Disney and Cameron, both who seem to not like film grain, I don't have high hopes....sadly.

Disney doesn't have a problem with film grain... Predator for example has plenty.

James Cameron on the other hand may screw this up, if he does it'll be worse than the blu-ray

I went to watch the new Dolby Vision version and maybe the new version has been DNR and sharpened again, but I think they have relaid a more subtle layer of noise. The picture is sharper than the previous version, every pore is clearly visible, so I think the new 4K UHD disc maybe will have very little noise, but it will be clear and it won’t have a waxy effect.

I went to see the Dolby Vision and IMAX versions again, and I'm sure that this restored version, which is extremely rare in restored films, is extremely clear. Compared with the new films of recent years is also very outstanding

It’s a documentary about some researchers that are searching for the Titanic shipwreck.

Dude Cameron will never oversee a truly pleasing HDR image. It's clear. Those that know just gonna take matters in their own hands. Like in fanedit community spirit. It's no different. I thought for sure there would be tie-ins and such for this in 2022 and Avatar upon the sequel dropping. Lol He just don't even care for a single home video dollar. RIP

Titanic has officialy ended its 25th Anniversary rerun, grossing more than $70M worldwide.
Now, what is Paramount/Disney waiting for?! A 4K UHD announcement must be imminent, right?
