Same here, still a great show overall. I started watching the series late, because I initially couldn't get into it, but was caught before S8 ended. I haven't bought anything GoT related, but this is an awesome set barring you get everything that is suppose to come with it. I may jump on this.

Episode where Arya took out you know who in season 8 was the best episode of season 8 by far and should have been the series finale in my opinion! Not only was it the best episode of season 8. Its up there as my fav of the entire series! Loved it!

So I've been slowly ripping my set since it arrived, and it turns out the first season 8 disc has a nice gouge in it that I missed previously. I suppose I should be happy there were no missing discs?

(And it was the last season; there are definitely worse seasons to have missing episodes. )

Contacted Best Buy support online, and after the chat crashing multiple times, they eventually insisted my only option was to physically walk into a store with it to do an exchange. Asked them if the store near me had any stock, they said nope, but there's one 30 miles from you that does.

So i guess I'm driving 60 miles tomorrow to exchange this. (And will be physically inspecting the replacement before I leave the store.)

I've done at least a dozen similar exchanges with Amazon, and they've all been completely drama-free. This has...not been ideal.

So, I drove over there today. (COVID-19 means I was itching to get out of my place for a while anyway, so I can't really complain too loudly.)

First replacement someone brought out for me looked like it had been drop-kicked across the warehouse. Second one looked fine; opened it up, all the discs were there, no obvious scratches. Just checked the disc I cared about, and it ripped with no issues.

So, I am now the proud owner of #97/7600.

(Poor guy behind the customer service desk who had to tell his coworker that no, a mangled box isn't good enough for a return replacement, was lamenting the madhouse it's going to be in a couple of days for PS5 release day when I mentioned all the new XBoxes lined up on the shelves behind him waiting for new owners. You couldn't pay me enough to go near Best Buy that day, ordering one online was bad enough. )

My set arrived and the big box has some minor imperfections, but the Steelbooks themselves are great and the discs all correct

Just wanted to share my experience. First set came with a big dent on the side, so I went to the nearest Best Buy and tried to get an exchange. The two they had in the back warehouse were both dented so I just refunded my set. I ordered another one online. This one fortunately wasn’t dented but it has 2 season 8 disc three’s. How can they mess up packing discs so badly?

Update Got my replacement set in the mail.

5013/7600 replacement numbers
1811/7600 original I'm keeping

5013 had season 7 discs I was missing from 1811

Packing on 5013 set was horrible. Quarter side dent at left side corner. It only had a few half deflated air bags.

Decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on this set. Checked all the discs, looks like I got all the discs and everything seems to look good, but I will double check just to be sure. #5166

I don't think I've even been so disappointed in a release. First, the steels are just begging to be glossy. The matte artwork looks so faded and not impressive to me.

Then there is the digital code not being in 4K. I also noticed that the discs don't have all the nice bonus features like the blu-ray.

But the absolute worst thing about this set is the playback freezes! This happened on the 1st and 2nd disc. I was watching one of the best scenes where Jamie and Ned start to fight and everything froze up. I can not watch this pivotal scene apparently. Infuriating. Guess I'll have to go to youtube to finish out the scene.

Shame on Best Buy for releasing such a piece of garbage.

Have you contacted HBO? From my own personal experience they are really good about replacing defective discs. A few years back I bought the True Blood complete series set when it was on sale and a bunch of the discs were scratched and/or skipped. They just had me return them and promptly sent replacements that work perfectly.

How long do we have to request replacement discs from WB if we're having issues? I have yet to purchase this set but I really want to. I'm just worried about all the issues I'm reading on here.

Also, is there a master list or something that contains all the issues from this set?

So far I’ve only had skipping issues in season 2, disc 3, episode 9 at the 49-minute mark. Anyone else have this issue?
