It seems pretty official, it's all over the Internet. I guess he had a few options of what he wanted to make next. And he chose Resident Evil, so we'll see. Well the rumors going around before this news were a new film as an adaptation of RE:0; set within the same universe as Welcome to Raccoon City.

Ya maybe it's a melding of the two ideas, RE Zero adaptation, but a complete reboot once again.

I could see Cregger leaving only unless he's a big fan and they offered a lot of money.

As for the RE 0 film I think that one might be on ice until more news is revealed about this new take on the series.

And sadly I think Roberts is persona non grata with this franchise due to the reception of his film. Which is a shame since I think WtRC is a brilliant RE film and horror film.
