Wrong dude Joe. And I hope cdx47 does not give it another try. That's two hours he could have been doing something more productive, like picking his nose or alphabetizing his 3-D Blu-ray collection.

And O'Neill is spelled with two L's. O'Neill's estate should sue the director for relating the movie to his play.

BTW, did you know that sitting through a back-to-back double feature of "A Long Day's Journey into Night" and "Goodbye to Language" qualifies as torture under the Geneva conventions?

Hi jchung

Was eating baked beans when saw your suggestion on better things to do.

Wondered why it took so long to bring up that other title.

Mune - Der Wächter des Mondes (Moon - Guardians of the Moon).

I've read that the 3D version includes only French Audio and subtitles but one reviewer of the 3D version mentioned English subtitles that his children were too young yet to read.

Anybody know if English subtitles actually exists on any 3D version?

Thanks gang,
Joe

Going by memory here...

The only 3D version Is the French release that is not English friendly. You'll have to mux off the US Blu-ray release that has an English track and subtitles.

I can confirm that the version I have is French only. The cover of mine looks a little different than the one from France. I had bought it about a year and a half ago from a Swiss company and the back cover says it was distributed by a company in Zurich so I think it's a Swiss version, but it also does not have English subtitles.

The 3D on Mune is not very good. It was one of the flattest that I've seen which was unfortunate because I really enjoyed the animation style. Maybe somebody else would disagree but I would not recommend trying to get the 3D version.

My cover is also different from the one listed on blu-ray.com. After your description, I reviewed my copy and it's also the Swiss version (the distributor's internet domain ends in ".ch"). Thanks for the correction.

Hi!
I have a dumb question: If I bought a 3D release from Europe, will it work in my bluray if I have a Region A player?
Does regions matter on 3D cds?

Maybe, some releases are region free, some are region locked. If you go to the thread for the movie it will say. Questions are best to ask in the questions, recommendations thread or 13th man will attack!

Just found an interesting thing. If you search a movie there’s a listing of how many users have it in their collection. For instance, Avatar 3D is in 6,000 collections. When you search Julia X German Digibook it’s only 5. Either an indication how rare your copy is or maybe how bad it sucks. In either case… interesting.

Hi Okie,

Make that at least six. I haven't added my collection to that list.

Hi Okie,

"Attack of the 13th Man".

Is that in 3D?

It's probably unavoidable to some degree on backlit panels as opposed to projectors. So it's never a criticism of the movie, but the viewing method.

P.S. I've heard so many good things about Turtle's Tale and bought it but still haven't watched yet. Looking forward to it!
Hi, thought this would be more appropriate in the general discussion thread.

I gather this is Jonathan. Love your 3D catalog.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Will admit depth and pop outs never looked better on my sony since my ladt calibration but am now noticing a slight ghosting on Spears and Munsil 3d montage don't recall seeing before. Maybe I'll try tweaking the contrast/brightness combinations a slight bit to see if it clears up any. Have everything written down so won't ruin if what I have is the best I can achieve.

Well, I tried further tweaking my calibrations but this only resulted in deteriated 3D and picture quality.

Being susceptible to ghosting might indeed be inherent in backlit monitors but fortunately the ocassional ghosting for me (and hopefully most others) is minimal and not a distraction. And it might not be due to one's equipment.

There are discs that have great 3D but ghosting as well. Take Grand Canyon Adventure. Though it is negligible for me, that's not the case according to bluray.com.
