Ahh, the perks to not having a killcam. Us lowly medics can only hope to notice the sniper rifle symbol next to our death and choose not to stand back up. I usually try to locate where the sniper was so I can *try* to make it over to him and kill him

No obvious kill cam like COD but the camera does pan around and show you the direction of the sniper, it sometimes can help

Morning all, my PS3 is phat launch day model.

It wouldn't turn on this morning, I was hoping it would stay on long enough to eject the disc, but no. I'll try again when I get home, it will have had a good long time to cool down.

I just spoke to Sony, who I have to say were really helpful, the guy knew exactly what I was talking about and gave me a number of options and suggestions.

Sony can only offer me a like for like replacement at £135, but I think I will pick up a slim model and see if I can restore my most recent back up to it. Sadly this back up was made well over a month ago so it looks like I'll be restarting KZ3; this shouldn't affect my online achievements should it?

I was half expecting this to happen as the fan has been kicking in more and more over the last few months.

A lesson learnt though; make regular backups (where possible) of game saves independently of the main system back up. KZ2 couldn't be backed up and KZ3 is probably the same, which is a real pain and not helpful in these situations.

Have you got KZ3 disc stuck in the machine?

Did you sync any recent trophies? if not you will lose them

I got YLOD after about 150 hours gameplay of Demons Souls so i payed £70 and got Console Doctor to fix it because i wasnt starting Demons Souls over again

Not sure, i persumed the US would have them as the UK doesnt have half the Avatar content the US has

The exact same thing happened to me but on KZ2. I reflowed mine and managed to get the disc out so I would at least try doing a that because if it works you can create a fresh backup and get the disc out also.

Yeah, the game is still inside. I've decided to get a slim (I'm quite keen on one anyway) but I'll have a go at rescuing my existing console and if all else fails I'll take it apart to retrieve the game. I've checked on the KZ3 site and the campain trophies I picked up last night aren't showing, but as I've got to restart the game from scratch anyway it's really not an issue! Thank God I've enjoyed the campaign!

I don't usually have cash "lying around" but it's funny how you can find a couple of hundred quid when you really need to!!

Oh you'll always find away to get a new console if its needed, i got a 6 months interest free Comet card and got one that way

I still have my YLOD phat 60GB launch with 320GB HHD and Star Wars Clone Wars BD stuck in it its under my stairs and probably worth something

I just wanted the Tactician avatar for 20p i downloaded it and although its says tactician in my downloads it give me Infiltrator is everything KZ3 related cursed with little bugs.lol. i had to download the Avatar pack for another whole 79p just to get my Tactician avatar!

I had mine repaired for £40. It still works as far as I know but I haven't used it much since I bought the slim

I played as medic last night and it seemed I was getting the 'most revived' bonus at the end of every match. I think the problem that most players have of being a medic is you get killed alot (shot in the back while trying to run to revive someone)! Which deters people from using this class cause it hurts the k/d ratio.

I would imagine you will always get the most revived bonus as Medics are quite rare although strangely enough there seems to be quite a lot of members on this forum like playing medic

I'll second this. The video scared me when I first watched it but the process was really easy. It was a temp. fix but allowed me to get my game out and back up my saves.The toughest part was finding a PC store with the thermal paste.

Also depending on your PS3 model I have read that the fan test spits your disc out as well.
