Wrong. I can see how you may have disliked it, and if you were expecting a 'Baseball' film I can see why you didn't respond to it. While it takes place in the world of baseball, the movie isn't about baseball. I liked it quite a bit. I hated a Thin Red Line but just because I disliked it doesn't mean it's a terrible film.

Amazon Cleopatra Digibook?

Does anyone know if the Cleopatra currently listed at $15.49 (it's in the Deals banner above) is the Digibook version? The blu-ray.com listing says so, but the Amazon listing DOES NOT (nor does it look like a digi in the image), and I'm pretty sure it USED TO when it was first issued...

There is another listing of Cleopatra for $10.99, so it makes sense the $15.49 version MAY be the digibook...

Can anyone confirm? Also, does the digi have a bilingual cover/spine?

The 15.49 version is the Digibook.

I confirmed this by taking the Amazon.ca ASIN and using Google to search for it along with the text "Cleopatra".

http://www.adquisitio.ca/20th-centur...eopatra-50th-0

The website above spells out that it is indeed the Digibook.

I would imagine the text is bilingual but I'm not sure how it's laid out since I only have the US Digibook.

The $15.49 Cleopatra deals listing goes to the same ASIN as my digibook, which I bought during a holiday lightning sale.

The spine, front cover, and slipcase all have bilingual text (just the title/50th Anniversary banner and a summary/special features blurb on the slipcase back).

Just curious: did anybody who ordered any of the digibooks that were on sale around Boxing Day get any of them yet?

I ordered on Dec. 26th. Most said 1-3 weeks, and usually for me this has meant only a week delay to ship. But not this time, they still say that and the (usually) exaggerated latest delivery date has passed without shipment. Not a big deal normally, but in the meantime some of these titles have been available for a good price (not necessarily digibook) elsewhere and I'm wondering if these digibooks will end up being titles that drag on "forever" in "not yet shipped" and then be cancelled (not unheard of for me). i.e. should I cancel and get elsewhere

^

I ordered a bunch of the under-$15 mostly-Warner sale digibooks (all the ones listed in my collection currently) from Dec 26th through mid-January.

So far I've gotten nearly all of them (except for Out of Africa, which is being delayed by a pre-order, and two Sony digibooks which I suspect are probably out of print). But mine were mostly in stock when I ordered.

I did have to wait for them to get Hamlet and Malcolm X back in. And they held a bunch of the in-stock ones which were ordered with another thing that had a 2-3 week wait for a while before they finally broke the order into batches and shipped them to me.

I kind of wish I'd gotten the lot. It turns out I really like the digi-booklets even if I don't care much for the actual movie that goes with it. Hopefully they have another significant batch-pricedrop while Amazon still has copies available.

^ Since you mentioned it, all of mine were Sony! I didn't notice that before but just checked...

Why is amazon continuing to take orders for them if they can't get them (maybe OOP)? I ordered some within an hour of them going on sale and they still said 1-3 weeks as they do now. Usually they say if things are out of stock and they're not sure when they can get more, and they won't let you order if they're really doubtful they'll ever get any more. I just checked and some of them seem to only be available from 3rd party vendors on amazon.com. And yes, amazon finally split some of my "digibook orders" and shipped the non-digibook stuff with other orders (.ca regularly combines separate orders for me). I suppose it's possible Sony is making more and amazon is waiting. I know for sure that's happened at least once already with one of the titles I ordered, it cost a small fortune before reprint.

I did get a bunch of Uni and WB digibooks in November. Most of those titles are only available in digibook, or else the latest/best BD version for region A is only available in digibook (for instance The Man Who Would Be King, Deliverance).

Yesterday I experienced something so shocking, so astounding that I was left in disbelief. Placed my amazon.ca order at 9:30am for 3 titles. Chose the Free Super Saver shipping option (4-6 business days) I come home from work at 6pm only to find them sitting in my mailbox!!

^ I've never gotten anything the same day as ordering, but next day is normal for me...if it's not coming from BC.

I think continuing to take orders for stuff that they don't have in stock and haven't had in stock for ages and may never have in stock again, is a valid complaint though. Especially when they play the "daily price up and down game" to get titles prominent on all the forum/site price-watchers, presumably to increase sales. The good thing I can say about that is, if you get the right store/person, you can get FS or BB to price-match it.

I was considering ordering this, but I'm mildly annoyed at the special features fiasco with this title. Does the Amazon Edition have good features? Anyone think the price drop is indicative of a super ultra shiny edition that packs ALL the special features to be coming soon?

I can personally overlook the awkward distribution of special features between releases since I'd maybe watch them once. But if you do care, I'd hold out for an 'Ultimate Edition. It has to be coming.

Most likely 2016 for the 50th Anniversary. But if you don't want to wait 2 years, take the deal now.

Naaah, I can wait. Can't buy this one and fuel Paramount's notion that this kind of business practice is acceptable.

An Incredible price on brand new release. Short Term 12 $12.99

http://www.amazon.ca/Short-Term-12-B...A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB

One of most realistic, heartwarming and original independent films of 2013. Easily worth a blind buy if you're on the fence.

I've always liked Brie Larson from United States of Tara... Haven't heard of this movie but I'll give it a go. Thanks for the link.
