Then they can keep the detachable joycons. I still dont think its out of the realm of possibilities that they could shrink the thing and release a handheld only version

That's possible, I wasn't arguing against that. They could even release one that was still compatible with a dock, but didn't come with one. Since they're selling the dock separately for $90 (when it probably costs $20 to make) that sounds highly profitable.

Nintendo talked about how you could move around the Gamepad to do things like aim a gun and other stuff in their advertising.

The core way of playing Splatoon was moving the pad to aim.

My main point was that the Joy-Cons are basically version 2.0 of the Wii Remote. The Wii Remote and the Joy-Cons have both emphasized motion controls far more than the relatively limited motion controls present in the GamePad.

Sadly yes and they seem to think they're suitable cameras.

That's why I said before that the Switch feels more like the natural successor to the Wii than the Wii U was. Wii U feels like some awkward stop gap.

Thinking about it now, I wonder if Zelda breath of the wild will support motion controls much the same way Twilight Princess supported it on the original Wii?

It has limited motion control support for sure; they have mentioned that you can use the joycons to aim the bow.

I just want to be able to play while taking a dump.

What about swinging the sword?

Also was it ever confirmed that the L and R triggers on the switch are analog or are they still digital like they were on the Wii U pad?

The "portability" of it for me isn't something that I like wanna play on a bus or something, but it's dope that I have an easy way to transport an entire console and games to my girlfriend's apartment when I stay with her on weekends, or to my mom's house when I visit on holidays.

I can see myself taking it to work and playing it on my lunch break. But outside of that and playing it while I'm on the crapper, I'll mostly be playing it docked at home.

Haven't seen anything about that, just the on screen mention of the bow aiming.

People need to stop including the pro controller "just to get started." Absolutely nothing stops you from playing a game without the pro controller. If it's your preference that's fine, but it's not a requirement of the console that they decided to not include

It's a requirement if you have big hands.

The Joy-Con grip is about the same size as the Pro controller, seriously... all the XBox and PS4 players need every controller to have "wings?"

I've seen many in person demos of the Joy-cons in the grip and seperately, they look fine. I'd rather spend my money on the extra dock which comes with an HDMI cable & AC adapter.

Oh, and games, but some people have a preference and want a "traditional" controller so to each their own.
