I'm torn because it is really high for 14 episodes. I mean $67 almost is a lot. It is a really nice set though.

Got my order in. While Crystal wasn't my favorite, I still have to pick it up to complete my SM collection. In addition, it doesn't hurt that the set itself looks gorgeous.

I'll have to wait till around the 20th when I get paid again. But yes the set does look as nice as its Japanese counter part.

Does Viz want to release the first two seasons of both new and old shows before getting to the third season of the OG show?

I've been waiting for this! I dropped the show after episode 14 due to Toei being Toei, so hopefully the BD improvements make this worth a watch.

SMC season 3 is stunning and a huge improvement over seasons one and two and I'm liking this version of S more than the original.

The JP releases were much nicer, bit of a surprise coming from a Toei Animation series.
Also, WHY DID HE RIP THE BAG OFF? Look for the taped portion dammit. This is how lots of JP releases are, Japan doesn't like making things more complicated than they need to be in regards to packaging and how to open stuff (here in America we could learn from them).

Not surprised at there being multiple sets, although the US kinda sees the first 26 episodes as one season. I am also kinda disappointed that there is no room for the 2nd volume like Classic/R had and the artwork should feature more than one character since there will only be 2 sets. With that said, do you think it's even slightly possible that they could release a 26-episode set later on since we are only getting 2 releases until the new episodes are dubbed?

Viz did see the first 26 as one season, until the new season was announced as "Sailor Moon Crystal: Season III" -- which is even included in the logo. I believe that they originally had intended to release this just like the classic sets, with room for parts 1 & 2 in the chipboard box, but with Japan now considering 1-14 as "Season I" and 15-26 as "Season II" -- ostensibly -- they backtracked on that packaging idea and came up with this. I'm much happier about it, actually, since the new S season will have "Season III" plastered all over its box by default. Also happy that we get art cards of all 7 original Japanese covers.

I hate when people do this. If anyone has the urge to rip apart their bags, just send them to me.

Unlike the classic series, which comes with the coins for pre-ordering, I can wait for Crystal to come down in price.

Because it's a worthless bag.

You'll most likely eventually see a box set release in the future.

And here's the trailer:

Official Extended Trailer- Sailor Moon Crystal Set 1- The Dark Kingdom Arc - YouTube
From the trailer it seems for Crystal each ark or act will be its own dvd/blu Ray set. As it seems each act or ark is a complete season. See this new Crystal has no filler episodes like classic has. See with classic because there are filler episodes there are more episodes per season, act, ark what ever you wanna call it. So for classic because there are more episode viz can break up the season to 2 releases per season. Because Crystal seasons are so short they can't really break up the seasons into 2 releases. So each release is going to be a complete season.

Really steamed they decided to start pushing Crystal physical releases before even starting S. Its been like two years since we started getting the series, a bumpy as hell road I might add, and instead of pumping out the releases as quickly as they possibly can (since at this point we all know they don't give a damn about Video Quality considering they're still using Subatomic for mastering.) they've dragged their feet and decided to dump out easily one of the worst Sailor Moon adaptations instead of putting out what is arguably the best season of the original series.

The terrible animation, lazy music, tryhard serious tone, hamhanded and un-warranted changes just to fit in a dumb "past boyfriends our past lives are all that define us :'(" subplot or steal character moments away from anybody but Usagi (while, naturally, failing to eliminate any of the ACTUAL clumsy writing of the manga.) I just have to question why this warrants skipping ahead before finishing the 90s series releases.

(Of course the S2 part of Crystal S1 fixed some issues while naturally still keeping the "you can't break my bubble neener neener i'm capturing all your friends so they're effectively useless!" garbage.)

Of course this is all my opinion, if you like Crystal more power to you I guess. I'm mostly getting it for the feelies.
