For sure; in fact, there is an argument that numerical ratings are frivolous altogether and only the words should matter, films being subjective and all (Drewes was proponent of this). I don't agree with this, I find ratings to be useful, interesting and entertaining, and, to be honest, the presense or absence of a 0-star rating doesn't really affect me either way; I was merely noting that there is a strong case for it being there.

Based on Vlad's discription of Sam as a "low life loser who got kicked in the balls", I can only assume homophobia.

Personally I get why they chose Sam, he's very IN right now and essentially the male Adele. The song does nothing for me as its lyrically weak, production is good. Personally I wish they would've gone with Ella Henderson. I think her voice would've fit an epic Bond theme wonderfully. Ella Eyre would've been another good choice but neither are as a big name as Sam is.

Suggesting Taylor Swift as a "good vocalist" is hilarious in and of itself. She can barely carry a tune and now uses backing tracks to cover up her vocal inconsistencies.

Liked most of the Connery Era (even the more hokey ones seemed funny with him)
Hated most of the Roger Moore Era
Lazenby shouldve gotten another shot
Dalton was awesome
Brosnan started hot and flamed out fast

Calling the guy a "low life loser who got kicked in the balls" all because he didn't like the song is extraordinarily stupid, yes.

Though, ASSUMING he did so because he is homophobic is every bit as stupid, if not more so!

That's the point I'm making. Make an assumption that sounds so wildly absurd, I'll do it right back for the sake of learning. I'm thoughtful like that

I'm going to see this later today. It's been awhile since I have seen Skyfall. Does Spectre do a recap or anything in the beginning?

Debating if I should see this. I have heard people I know say they did not like it. What do you guys think. See it on the big screen or wait for BD?

See it in theaters, if you're worried about not liking it just wait for a matinee or discount day to go.

I haven't seen it yet, but from what I've read, if you enjoy the cheese-factor of Moore's Bond movies and love the gritty realism of Craig, then you will enjoy Spectre.

3.5/5.

I found the film to be wholly entertaining from start to finish, action packed, thrilling and it never felt like a 2+ hour film, but its not without its errors.

[Show spoiler]
First, Christoph Waltz. Love him as an actor, but the script clearly was lacking in his character development. He walks into the film and you're supposed to feel like he's some imminent threat, but the entire film devolves into Bautista being the one that takes that role on with limited wordage. Oberhauser is supposed to be this big, overbearing force and he felt like nothing more than a pawn in his own game.

Secondly, Ralph Fiennes taking over as M was inevitable but while he is a ferocious actor, he is so subdued here and never feels like he's taking over for Judi Dench. She commanded the audience's attention in every scenes, delivering her lines with such vigor and assertiveness that watching Fiennes merely hope you pay attention to him was sort of a let down.

Thirdly, Lea Seydoux was an insipid choice to play the main bond girl. She is gorgeous but she was never captivating or even the least bit alluring in her role. She played off Bond so playfully instead of matching him bit for bit. Monica Bellucci was completely wasted in her role. She is one of the single best Italian actresses of our time, with an indelible turn in Irreversible, it mystified me that she was merely there to serve as a transition point in the film.

Overall, I enjoyed the film as a Bond film, loved it as an action film, but serving as a direct sequel to Skyfall, it fell a tad short in that aspect.

I do hope Craig and Mendes return for one more film as they've served as quite the match for the series and breathed new life into the franchise.

Indelible is such a gentle term that fits with so many aspects of that film.

Not surprising; weaker reviews and less of an "event" factor than Skyfall had. All things considered it's pretty good but basically confirms this won't reach Skyfall's total. Hunger Games is coming up soon.

Maybe I'm alone but I wish they amped up the fun & creativity in this movie like having some lasers in the villain lair or having a bond girl killed by a flying hat. I'm trying to think of one distinctive thing about this movie but it's hard.

If you like Bond films go and see it.....there's no such thing as a bad Bond film. Some are not as good as others but they all offer entertainment. Coming off Skyfall, Spectre has a lot to live up to. It succeeds in some areas but drops the ball in others.

How is it stupid? Some movies deserve a 0/5 or 0/10. However you rate them.

Agreed.

Sometimes it seems like people forget that, even if they think a movie isn't "good", that there were people working on the film that did a good job in their department. In every film, there is at least one aspect to like.
