That’s for Dynit’s Italian release, unless that article specifically mentions the AU, UK and US set will be the same somewhere in that article.

I can't stand releases like this. I'm so over having these huge releases that I can't store neatly on a shelf. I don't want all of the little extras like keychains and postcards either. Hopefully a standard Blu-ray will be announced for the near future.

Yeah I hate packaging like that. Like what moron thinks a collector wants something like that when it is so hard to display and will most likely end up in the back of a closet.

Having two threads for this is absolutely ridiculous.

I didn't know that, just saw it making the rounds on Twitter, thanks. Knowing how rigid Khara can be with licensing, though, I wouldn't be surprised if all the sets are more identical than not.

All I want are the discs inside a standard, clear Blu-ray case with a nice rigid slipcover or slipbox.

Could be. I think the Korean release is similar to the Italian release.

UK, US & Australia sets are exactly the same. There may be some tweaks but about 95% of it will be the same (see PROMARE as an example between UK & US).

The UK side currently won't have a limit on how many will be made which makes sense because not everyone will have the money to put Shinji back in the robot on the day orders begin.

Since Evangelion's Ultimate Edition plans are coming next week, I want to make some predictions to see what the set will come with because I'm in an Eva mood right now especially with the new film coming tomorrow on Prime.

So we'll see how well this ages in a week's time.

Grav's Predictions for Eva's Ultimate Edition:
[Show spoiler]1) First things first, the Eva in the room that many are wondering is the English dubs. Considering the Amazon dub has the ADV cast back for the roles, I reckon the ADV (& Manga Ent. for the films) dub will be included in the Blu-ray release. As for the Netflix dub, that's a maybe.

Anime Limited have managed to include the Netflix dub for Violet Evergarden but they had the license for that show before Netflix started streaming it. Considering in recent years it's becoming more expensive to sort out Netflix dubs for home video as seen with Sentai, I wouldn't be surprised if Anime Limited nope'd on the idea of including the Netflix dub for the Evangelion set.

2) Because of licensing, I am fully expecting Fly Me to the Moon won't be included. But if it does, then Anime Ltd are probably wanting a lot of people to buy the set to make up for the costs lol.

3) Anime Limited are generally pretty good at rescuing many of the old on-disc bonus features (as seen with Escaflowne, Planetes etc) so I think most of them will return. My personal favourite is the TV Spot for End of Eva which is batshit insane and has to be included.

4) For Blu-ray disc count, I reckon 5 for the main TV series, and 1 for each film (totalling 7). Packaging is an interesting one but I reckon they might go for a Gundam style route where it's using Amaray cases and rigid boxes plus an outer box to house them all.

5) In terms of physical contents, I have noticed both Korea and Italy have used the same number of pages for their big artbook so I reckon Anime Limited will do the same. AL also likes their art cards and posters so add those to the mix. Another book would be nice.

6) Next I am going to predict the price. Fortunately the series & films got a UK release before so there's no need to re-rate it with the BBFC. I am going to guess it'll cost £199.99 SRP and for an Early Bird offer on the same range as Gundam SEED at £120-130.

7) Release date I'm going to predict it'll be out on the anniversary of the show's first airing in Japan - Monday 4th October.

Now let's see if I'm accurate in a week's time ohoho.

I've been saying it for years. All these companies over think anime collectors, a bluray sized chipboard box with an artbook will please the majority every time.

I’m down as well, but I’m going to have to hang another shelf just for the Ultimate Set at this point. These giant rectangular boxsets are killing me. I’m running out of wall space..

I hate these odd shaped releases. Criterion seems to love them too.

If this has the original ADV Dub, I'll spend $300+, I've been waiting for this for over a decade.

Well, if it is a 3-month pre-order, it will drop in November. If it is a 6-month pre-order, then it will be February 2022. So 50-50 chance, lol.

Anime Limited will postpone their release four times, until October 2022 - that's almost a given, so definitely 2022 for them, lol...

Honestly, I hope that Gkids reveals the language and subtitle specifications of the boxset when they open up the preorders. It’s ridiculous to just keep it under wraps until release day. You should see how people are over in the Scream thread for the upcoming 4K release. Everyone is still wondering if it’s the original uncut version that came out on VHS or if it’s the theatrical cut.

With that many discs and no dvd's I gotta imagine there is gonna be some subtitled special features, way to many discs for just 26 episodes 4 DC episodes and 2 movies.
