Schindler's List is an absolutely stunning movie and is so graphic it makes you question if the events in the movie actually happened and how a nation allowed it to happen. I love Jaws, Poltergeist and Raiders but SL may be my favourite Spielberg movie.
Actually, no, it’s still Raiders. |

Looking into the history will remove those questions. Many wanted it to happen and many took part. And of the rest, not enough cared that it was happening.

But let's face it, they're all great. It's just that Lethal Weapon 3 gives me that TV movie vibe, and I can't put my finger on why. |

Lethal Weapon 4 is really underrated and better than Lethal Weapon 3.
That scene at the dentist always makes me laugh. Uncle Benny is just great. ![]() |

I think it's because, despite great cinematography, the action itself is decidedly low impact, low stakes and not on the scale of the other three. Every other LW movie has at least one show stopping set piece made for a huge widescreen presentation. I struggle to discern which set piece in LW3 that is supposed to be. Its biggest and best action scene would be a lesser one in one of the others. LW4 feels the most like an actual sitcom but its action is huge, when it occurs, I'll give it that. Combine that with LW3's lackluster villain and it's definitely the most blah one. No offense to Stuart Wilson. He wasn't given much to work with..

Lost in Translation only works if you pretend that everything that happens is seen through the eyes of Bill Murray. It's a fictional version of Tokyo that is far from reality. Even if that was the point, many scenes are also badly acted and badly written, especially if you know Japanese.

Parts 2 and 3 are sorely missing Crispin Glover though. They would have been much better with him. Biff Tannen (and his descendants and ancestors) are the real stars of all three movies. |
