Question polk vs aa

Ok, so I did not read the whole thread and could not find anything quickly in a search... sorry!

I just ordered an AA PSW-10 by mistake. I was looking at several different subs and thought I was ordering the Polk PSW-10 at the time. In reality I wanted the PSW-110 due to some negative reviews of the PSW-10 (Polks).

So did I just make a huge mistake? Should I just not even open the box here and sell them off on the internet? I do not currently have a good system, but I wanted something for future expansion. I am pretty mad at myself for not being more careful when ordering.

Thanks in advance!

I think you made a good mistake. I am a Polkie, but I don't like their subs.

I only made to page 65 on this thread.

It appears that most of the AA subwoofers are back in stock. Check the links in post #1.

That is not a bad deal. You can push your budget and get the 12" Lava subwoofer. Alternatively, you can buy a 12" BIC subwoofer for less than $250. They have several models in that price range.

Since there is so many options, I have a question. If you only had $250 to spend on a sub, which one would you buy?

Two subwoofers are better than one. They can have increased output, but more importantly, they can even out the bass across the room for all listening positions.

If I had only $250 for the rest of my life to spend on subwoofers, I would buy two Acoustic Audio 12" or 10" subwoofers. If you bid on their Ebay store and are smart in your biding, you can get them real cheap. A few months ago, I managed to win the 15" AA HD-SUB15 for $169 plus free shipping. The most important thing is find a good deal that is expiring and not to bid until the last 30 seconds or so and make your bid high enough so that you are certain to win.

All the links to their subwoofers on Ebay are in post #1.

Default Acoustic Audio HD-Sub 10

Thank you Big Daddy and all the other posters in this thread. I bought the HD-Sub 10 for my small 2 channel 12'x12' mancave.

Would an acoustic audio sub blend well with nht superzero 2.0s?

Ok, I read about a half of this thread after finding the sub on eBay and looking for more info... Made a best offer of $125 on an RWSUB-15 got declined, made a second best offer of $150.00 and won it with free shipping... Should be here Friday (shipped same day as promised, shipping weight is billed as 44lbs) I'll post photos and a review when it gets here... This is going to be used primarily as a home theater sub and I required the down facing driver as I have both a 5 year old and a 3 month old that isn't far from the "crawl and poke" stage... In my 2 channel room I have a set of Event 20/20s and it is a constant struggle to keep my 5 year old from touching the cones... I can only imagine the temptation a 15" driver would pose...

A bit of history on me before I receive and review this subwoofer. I owned and operated a recording studio in SoCal before moving to Las Vegas. In the control room where I spent most of my life prior to wife and kids, I had a 6.1 setup using Mackie HR-824 monitors for the main speakers and a Mackie HRS-120 subwoofer, it was seriously the nicest listening setup I've ever owned... (Though I have had the privilege of working in rooms that had speakers easily costing twice what I paid for my house) So I'm a tough critic... I do have the expectation that this is a budget sub and I expect budget performance... but the next week or two will certainly be a good test. I have been without subwoofer for nearly 6 years now so anything will be an improvement over what I have now.

Also what would you guy recommend if I'm considering a BIC F12 for $188 or a AA HD-SUB15 for what I can manage to win one for (I would aim for something in the $180ish range or less)?

BIC F-12 is considered a good sub for the money by most accounts. There still isn't much info on the AA subs, that I can find, except on this site. So what say you, a BIC F12 or an AA HD-SUB15?

Well, I decided to roll the dice and make on offer on ebay for the HD-SUB20. I won it for $125 last night. Unfortunately I noticed today It was actually the RWS12 model. I contacted them but they said it has already shipped and to contact them again once it arrives.

I'm considering making trying to get the HD-SUB12 and either returning the RWS or perhaps keeping both. Can anyone compare the two?

So did Acoustic Audio get their subs lined out from last year? I knew there were amps going out left and right! I was one of them...and they wouldn't replace it! I was not a happy camper!! I had mine only a month before it croaked.

Default On Board!

First post;
I Just ordered an AA HDsub12 in black. I would usually look at acoustic suspension subs (I really miss my stolen M&K V-125!) but this thread convinced me to give Acoustic Audio a try. Since my last system was "paid the ultimate compliment" I have been very hesitant to invest substantial cash in another system, but that was a long time ago and I'm starting to come around.
My current system;
Visio 42" 120hz
Pioneer VSX-D711
Cerwin Vega HTS2 5 speaker f,c,s
Samsung blu ray player

The surrounds on the Vega center channel 5 1/4" have deteriorated, but i have located 4 matching bookshelfs and might pick them up and swap two of the 5 1/4 inchers into the center leaving me 6 bookshelf speakers for a 7.1 set. nothing fancy, but I'm on a real tight budget for now.

The Pioneer has always had an annoying hum at about 80hz and I'm getting tired of it. I have been looking at a NAD T747 to replace it. I have always been a fan of NAD's sound.

Can't wait to get the new AA sub hooked up and shakin'!
Bass reflex, My dad would be so proud! He's 84.
Has anyone tried sealing one of these cabinets? It would lose eficency, but it might tighten up the sound some. Either way, I'm looking forward to it!

Well, I decided to keep the RWSUB-12, though I meant to bid on a HD-SUB12.

It arrived Friday, but it didn't bring any info on how to register for the warranty. Can someone tell me how to register for my warranty?

Thanks...
