Fantastic game, United dominated the first half, dropped off in the second half though. Liverpool where lucky not to be down to 9 men Balotelli is a loonatic..

Yeah, but you guys would have been annoyed if Mata had missed and liverpool scored from a breakaway. Fans would be saying Rooney should have took it as he is normal penalty taker.

Even so, a designated penalty taker should always take pens unless there is a significant cushion imo.

I'm pretty sure the lawsuits for that home grown rule will be massive and not worth it in the end, especially considering - despite how draconian it sounds - they only see it increasing homegrown talent in first teams by about five percent.

Nothing has changed with the rules though. You get the same cluster of teams buying the title or (trying) for a top 4 spot every year. If they ever get into trouble or finish below a UEFA spot, they just splash more cash. This pattern will continue for decades. The days of Blackburn or Leeds winning the league are gone. Plastic clubs, imo, are the future.

Yeah bit big clubs throwing out half of their staff and having to fill those spots with English or Academy players is a drastic Proposal. Especially considering they don't expect it to change much.

We talked about this before steedeel modern football today that if you take a average football club and a owner with a unlimited amount of money he has and over the course of a few short years with the millions he put into that club then they will be among the elite of big clubs winning silverware perfect example is Chelsea.
But in the past Blackburn were backed by jack walker that's how they won the title.
My point is Arsenal are a well finacially run club who only spend what they need and never pay stupid amount of money on wages or crazy transfer fees.
Arsene Wenger is not the kind of manager who goes in the transfer market every time and his record of bringing in players and selling players for a big profit is good apart from the odd questionable signings like Arshavin or Ozil.
So not all big clubs use that way of spending big money if they are in trouble or just lost out on Europe.

I have always admired Arsenals way of doing things. I liked them before I joined this forum Tob. They are not a plastic club like Chelsea imo.
It takes away from winning the league if that club has spent 200 million in doing so. It's like, 'so what?' (I sounded lke a teenager there! Lol

I suppose it will only get worse with the Sky money piling in. Things will never be on a even level.
