My used copy of The Accountant 4K disc arrived from GameFly today, as did my 4K disc copy of Devil in a Blue Dress (Criterion) from B&N.

I've never seen Devil In a Blue Dress yet alone in 4K. Let us know what you think of it.

Sorry Steedeel I should have been more clear, the speeds mentioned is between the Wi-Fi device and the tablet as indicated by the diagnostic tools. I pay for 300 Mbps down and 20 Mbps up. Down test between 260 to 280 Mbps.

My service was out for almost a week, bad cable between street and house. Been 2 weeks since new cable was laid and they have not buried it yet.

Sounds like typical ISP repair work to me: Half-assed and stop gap every time.

People in semi-arid or arid climates seem to not understand the problems people have in wetter climates. Rain, lighting and roots can and does cause problems where we live but not enough of a bother to make us want to move somewhere else.

Netflix’s Mid-Year By-Mail Disc Rental Revenue Dropped 20%

Quote:
Netflix’s legacy DVD/Blu-ray Disc movie rental business finished the second quarter, ended June 30, with $77 million in revenue from subscribers who choose to rent packaged media movie through the mail. That was down 20% from revenue of $96 million during the previous-year period. The downward trend has been consistent all year. Netflix Q1 disc rental revenue fell 20% to $37 million from $46 million last year as fewer subscribers choose to rent new release movie DVDs through the mail.

The streaming behemoth no longer includes disc rental revenue with its overall streaming revenue. It stopped reporting packaged media subscriber numbers in 2020.

Such an awesome movie and underrated noir. I saw it a couple of years ago via streaming and it's a shame that they never kept it going with that potential franchise. There are a bunch of novels written by Walter Mosley featuring the Denzel character.

Some in alchav21's ISP area do have problems as seen here. Also at the bottom of the pile in the Netflix speed index.

How could there not be problems? They have alchav in their area.

The last items from my Amazon Prime day order have all arrived. But I'm not done quite yet.

Yesterday, I discovered that it was the last day of the Kino Lorber sale. I had to take advantage of it with these items ordered:

I'm still not up to where I would normally be with new acquisitions by this time of the year, but I'm catching up.

Nice try but I don't have CenturyLink, my ISP is Cable Systems they have FTTH. Some of CenturyLink have Fiber, but not in our Community. Fiber fed Switch would work even with Sony Core 80Mbps requirement!

I forgot to mention that over the weekend when I went to my video store to rent some 4K discs - the clerk mentioned that I had just missed Elizabeth Olsen by like 2 minutes. I do remember there being some sort of street festival, so maybe she was hanging out and saw the shop and decided to take a peek inside.

Funny observation in general - It's kind of funny nowadays that some people out there are old enough (or young enough) to not remember what a traditional video store looks like. I thought that was neat. Carry on.

You have bragged several times your data comes via CenturyLink.

Nothing but Green Lights on this Rail System, like Vilya would say......Making my Streaming Fantastic!

I think that Bandwidth and set-up has a lot to do with PQ, but also your ISP and their connection to the Fiber Backbone that will give you a good tie to the CDN. My ISP uses CenturyLink.

That is not the problem, it is the 100Base-T connection on the Sony TV that is the bottleneck.

CenturyLink is the Telco tie to the Fiber Backbone that Cable Systems uses, but it's not my ISP. Cable Systems out of Nevada is my ISP.

As you know Wireless fluctuates in speeds, while Hardwired Ethernet does not giving a constant speed so 100Mbps should fill the requirement of 80Mbps. I tried to Log into that Sony Bravia Core Service, but with my Model it wouldn't let me. I put in a question to their Support why they didn't upgrade the Port to Gigabit, so I am not upgrading to the Bravia Core until they do!
