Well, for once I'm glad I missed out on the original version of an album. The new edition of Whitesnake's The Purple Album looks phenomenal.

I know ANGEL is not a Metal Band but I think if they could have held on a couple more years there sound would have evolved into a Whitesnake/Great White type of sound and they could have dominated the Hair Band Movement of the 80's!

I'd never heard of Angel until about a month ago when I started following the "Sea of Tranquility" YT channel. I really like Giuffria's keywork on the 1st couple albums, but I have to warm up to that 1st singer's voice. Have you followed any of their more current albums?

Speaking of Whitesnake, Bernie Marsden just passed. I an a massive fan of his work with them and many of his other projects.

Frank DiMino was the lead singer on all 8 of their albums , when the band broke up in 1979 there was an effort to continue with a different line up but no albums were released until 1999 also with Frank DiMino on vocals, their latest albums "Risen" and "Once Upon a Time" are amazing, they sound like they picked up right after their final album in 1979.

I am seeing them live tomorrow night for the first time although their are only 2 original members now, Frank DiMino and Punky Meadows. I can't wait to see them live.

Edit: Greg Giuffria is one of the best keyboardist of all time, his two solo albums (The Band was called Giuffria) in the 80's were terrific although they sounded a lot like Journey. Also his work with House of Lords was Great, I saw them in the 80's when they opened for Cheap Trick.

Title track on the new Vandenberg album (Sin)...sounds like a mix of Whitesnake's "Judgement Day" + Dio's "Last In Line". Cool song....IMO.

Awesome album.

I picked it up at a midnight release, I was there picking up Bob Dylan's Love And Theft and decided to get the Slayer too. I stayed up all night listening to both and when I went to take a shower I walked by the TV and saw the second plane hit on CNN. I had asked for the day off work specifically because of the Dylan album and it turned out to be a good idea because it was a madhouse in town.

Quite a lot of stores refused to put the Slayer album out for sale because of the title and the terrorist attacks.
