Well, most people have worked out their own scales. Some people try to keep the highest mark as a rather unobtainable goal, others will give it away to any half-decent movie.

I don't give it away easily, but I don't reserve it to a handful of films either. What's the point with a scale, if you're not going to use it in its entirety.

I've given about 90 perfect 10's out of 2795 watched movies (little over 3%).

Oh, and now last movie seen is; Moon

Different. Original. Superb performance by Sam Rockwell. Visually beautiful and a good score to go with it. Some striking similarities to 2001: A Space Odyssey (Gerty < Hal).

It started out a little confusing, and it took some time for me to get into the movie. I came up with many theories about the story progression (and final twist/revelation), as I was expecting something a little more psychological and a little less sci-fi. Once the first and only revelation was given, it was kind of straightforward. I guess that's my only complaint about this movie.

Solid effort. 8/10

Rented "The Hurt Locker," and was very pleased. It's probably one of the most suspenseful movies I know of, and it seems pretty realistic. It's at least a 4/5, and I'll probably want to buy a copy later (would go good with "Jarhead").

Just saw Underworld for the first time.

Awesome

It gets an automatic 5/5 because I enjoyed it so much I sometimes forgot that Kate Beckinsale was running around kicking butt in skin tight leather

Zombieland

I heard a lot of hype about this movie. I was not dissapointed, it was a really good movie. Not a 10/10 like everyone else says IMO, but I'd give it a 8.5/10.

Watched today:

"Avatar," this time at an IMAX in 3-D. Still a fun movie, and the 3-D was surprisingly wonderful. 4/5

"Pathfinder." Not as bad as I remember it. The dialogue (what little there is) is a little screwy, there are a couple of cheesy parts, and I seriously doubt that there is any historical accuracy to any of it, but it is a fun movie with plenty of action and good visuals. 3.5/5

Edge of Darkness

Pretty darn solid film. I would suggest not to look at it as a vigilante movie. That said, it was a very good drama/mystery. The acting was absolutely top notch by everyone but especially Mel Gibson. We all know he is a very good actor but he did an awesome job. Also, his accent was spot on IMO. As the title suggests, it is a very dark film in its context and subject matter as well as very emotional. Martin Campbell also show just how good of a director he really is.

Film 4.5/5
