Looks like they came our really well. I'll see if I can sort out the final changes to the Kill Bill and Kick Ass spines for you in the next couple of days. James |

![]() I'm too lazy to try this, plus my printer doesn't print at high quality. Last edited by EPHiCS; 01-24-2011 at 07:36 PM. |

It would have been much better if the two steelbooks had originally been created as a matching pair but there you go. James |

Here are the 20 that I am going to have printed onto adhesive photo paper. They look outstanding. James truly outdid him self. Let me hear a hand of applause please.
Remember, these can be placed over the existing spine so no need to "ruin" your Steelbook. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I have them put in a PDF file. These custom steel inserts look amazing, couple of questions though;
1. Has anyone made a guide to removing the plastic inserts safely, to stick in the pictures? 2. When you tweak the images for printing, do you find that boosting the contrast helps the colours appear stronger in the finished result? EDIT: Never mind with first question I found the link to this guide on page 2 of the thread (I was working my way backward from 19 initially ![]() Still like to know answer of 2nd question though. Stripped down my Green Zone and Psycho steelbooks to test the method, relatively easy, just don't force them out. If you are doing it right then it should pop loose on its own. I doubt I will touch the spine stickers though, they seem a little too easy to damage. ![]() Just need to pick some pictures now for Psycho, Green Zone and The Expendables (ordered). Thank you for posting up the spines and for the kind words. ![]() Looking at all the spines together I have noticed that The Expendables spine is missing the logo at the top and the Sin City text is not centered correctly. I'll sort those issues and send you the updated spines. Thanks James |

Hey guys I have a Beowulf steelbook DVD and whoever put the spine on didn't do it right. So it has a kink two thirds down and it doesn't run straight. Is it difficult to remove it and stick it back or will I just end up damaging it? Should I just leave it?

If I maybe allowed to give my opinion.
I think you've done a great job with the spines. One minor detail I would fix is the difference in font of Kill bill vol 1 and 2. I'd like the font spacing and style to be the exact same as they are parts of the same movie. Just a thought though. Great job regardless. ![]() |

Like you I would prefer the Kill Bill Vol 1 and Vol 2 spines to match , but that is how the original steelbooks are, so I tried to get as close to the originals as possible. No ideas why the studio didn't make a matching pair of steelbooks. ![]() Best wishes James |

I was wondering if you would be willing to do alternate versions of the "Shaun Of The Dead" and "Hot Fuzz" spines with the Universal logo instead of the Alliance one.
Both the films were distributed by Universal in the UK. I have them on order, and I also have OCD so it would really be a great treat. ![]() They all look great though. Too bad the same sort of method can't be applied to the backs of steelbooks that have printed info on them (German Transformers being a prime example). If you do those alternate spines, feel free to leave off the age ratings. ![]() |
