I just hit 1,500 today. Going by my past posts in this thread, I added somewhere between 300-400 titles to my collection in 2012.

At the end of 2012 I believe I had 4568, although that might be out by a few.

That's an incredible amount of film.
Why such a descrepency between the two numbers? Too many to list and not worth The work to update? Just curious.
Are you basically a collector? I have a huge collection IMO and I can't imagine having ths many movies.
It's awesome by the way.

Numbers are out as it was taking too much time and effort to keep it current. I already track them in a spreadsheet and DVD Profiler, so a third place was just becoming overkill.
When I checked the other day I hadn't updated it for a year on here. Added a few a minute ago, but it will take ages to reconcile with my other lists and just don't think I can be bothered.

I have far too many - I blame the mild OCD Although in fairness my DVD collection has shrunk considerably in the last 4-5 years.

I have a good few hundred which I will need to get rid of at some point. I'll end up buying the same film from different countries if a better version comes out, so need to get rid of the inferior version(s).

Unlike some collections I don't have 38 copies of the same film, including the US and Canadian versions, hmm.......

I honestly can't believe I'm a member of this club but odds are I'll have 1,500 Blu-rays by the end of the year.

Yeah, gotta give you big props for that. I didn't see 15 copies of 2012.
I also noticed that you have a TON of great movies (you'd have to with this many ) and not just junk in some people's opinions. Wait, I'm sure some would say you have nothing but junk, which is to be expected. But who cares. Its not like its anyone else's collection. I'm sure ill get over 2K sooner than later, but probably never attain your kind of numbers. It's an extremely solid collection for being that big and that's only half of it. Very nice.

That's a lot of $ to put down on Blu-ray.

I'm getting rid of 50 or so, collection is getting too big and I've started to buy garbage titles.

Have you tried using the CSV export plugin to DVD Profiler, export out the UPC/EAN's and then use the Import on the Blu-ray.com site?

Collecting Blu's has been my biggest since the time I started collecting movies on VHS/DVD/LD. I usually average about 100 movies a year unless I score some can't pass up deals along the way. I'm always picky that when I buy I have to have a minimum of 2 titles purchased at a single time. my current # is 1148 and I should be well over 1200 by the end of 2013!

My collection does have a load of rubbish in it as well - but I get to blame those on the wife and kids

I hadn't tried it, but have installed it and had a quick test run. Seems it will load quite a few duplicates due to the UPC's matching for a lot of US and Canadian titles, so would need to do some cleanup afterwards, but would appear to be quite a bit quicker than inserting them all manually - so thanks for the tip.

Also what I do is I created an imprort category on Blu-ray.com which is where I do all my imports. I do that to segregate them so it is easier to flag and eliminate the dups and then do a mass move to "owned"

But for the most part I don't get many canadian conflicts. But my collection is not near as large as yours lol

That was a cunning plan. Proved rather useful. Managed to update my tv series pretty quickly, so will try with the movies next.

You look familiar!

If I didn't already have mine in here I might not keep it up to date, the import process is a bit rough for larger collections. My DVD section here is a mess and I haven't bothered trying to fix it.
