No PSA's, I have a pair of Epik Legends. I do however live north of Cincy.

I sold my brother my legend, the PSA trounces it. I don't even think I need another one.

Ah ok. I am enjoying hearing a lot of good things about the PSA. I know I will have to invest in a new sub or 2nd one down the road. I've been tinkering with my sub lately trying to find the sweet spot.

I guess it was great timing for PSA to come out at this time since eD just went kaput, all of those heartbroken eD owners are gonna turn to SVS or PSA.....maybe HSU but why would you do that!....im teasing HSU fanboys, calm down. Welcome to the SVS/PSA family

Just to chime in on the one question---we would offer an additional 5% discount on a dual subwoofer order. So you would get 10% off total and each XV15 would be $675.

Hello Tom V. just wanted to ask if Power Sound will be at the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest that will be held at the Denver Marriott Tech Center Hotel on October 12-14, 2012 ?
Sure would like to meet and talk to you and see and hear your new subwoofers.

Corners tend to work well, preferably corners near the key seating positions. Also, remember that each time you try a new spot you should reset the bass levels and the phase control on the sub.

Unfortunately, no. Just way too much going on right now to leave the office for days at a time. It always looks like a good time when I read the blogs though----maybe next year.

Why do corners work well? That's where mine is but only because that's where it would fit. Did I end up in a good place out of dumb luck?

That is unfortunate, but sounds like business is good.
Like you mentioned, maybe next year.

Two primary reasons:

1)corners will give you maximum boundary gain. That is---each surface(wall, floor, ceiling) will give you up to 6dB more output from the subwoofer. The usual gain from typical wall construction is more like 3.5 to 4.5dB though. This is very important as one of the primary limitations of most home theater systems is clean bass capabilities.

2)A subwoofer in/near a corner will excite the maximum number of "room modes". The three types of modes are Axial, Tangential, and Oblique. Generally, the more modes excited the flatter the bass response will be when measured at a variety of listening positions in the room.

There's a lot of good reading in that link, Nousaine was one of the early pioneers of home theater acoustics.

I used to have mine tucked in a good corner but it was behind our seating area about 5-6ft from where I would sit. I moved it up front because I felt like I was getting bad imaging cause I could pinpoint where it was so easily(maybe had it setup wrong who knows). So i moved it up front off to the right and the imaging is better but I feel it lacks low end(cant remember how it was on low end when it was in the corner). Why I've been contemplating a new sub PSA, svs or hsu down the road. I've been doing some tinkering with settings to try get a good sound though. It's a Velodyne CHT-15 older sub but mint.

The CHT15s were pretty good--- I think Nousaine measured one and it did well from about 35hz and up.

http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/art...er-better-bass

If a subwoofer seems to draw attention to itself it can be for several reasons.

1)some form of audible distortion/spurious noises (port noise, enclosure rattle, harmonics from driver moving well beyond its linear limits, ect). Even something near the sub----like a window rattling/buzzing a bit.

2)Crossover might be a little high. (too much upper frequency information coming from subwoofer)

3)could just be the bass calibrated on the hot/loud side.

Whenever you move the sub, be sure to reset bass levels AND experiment with the phase control. Get either one wrong and a great subwoofer position might sound quite the opposite.

Thanks for the info and fast response. From that article reading what it said about my sub it makes me feel something isn't set right maybe then on the back between lowpass and highpass.

how can you tell if phase is out of whack? if I end up adding this second sub thats my biggest worry. I'm just worried that I won't be able to hear what sounds "better" is there a concrete way to tell if things are out of whack?

I believe with phase just play some music with good bass and have the knob at 0. Listen to it for a few then turn the phase to 180 and listen. Then you set it to where the bass sounds the deepest.
