It's been a ridiculously expensive year to be a Clive Barker fan. There has been a bunch of limited edition versions of his novels, including a $250 Books of Blood set, and now $80 for this limited edition. I've never been so happy to be so broke. I still can't believe Scream Factory managed to find the lost footage. Unbelievable.

Very poor that SF doesn't ship to Europe.
We supported the Cabal Campaign as well and now we are left out.

Hopefully Amazon will list this soon.

SF and other studios do not however Amazon and Diabolik DVD can and will...
How are you left out exactly ? 5000 copies aren't going to sell it that quickly..

Nope, not extortion.
Being 'limited' to 5000. Pay premium or lose out. Falls into the More

Guess $80 is reasonable to some?

Keeping fingers crossed.

I would have liked the poster as well as getting this 2 weeks early.

Yes actually, it is. I would've actually paid more for it for the simple fact that it is limited AND it will be fully restored!

I got the email and was like " Oh yeah!" Then saw the price point and assumed they made an error in their pricing. Had to investigate to find out it was correct. The people at Shout are like " Screw you Twilight Time, look how much we can make them pay" That being said......I cant decide what I want to do. Love Nightbreed but dont want to buy it and contribute to them thinking this kind of pricing is fair. 49.99 would have been more like it and even thats pushing it.....

Did you order the limited edition of The Midnight Meat Train from Dark Regions Press? I can't wait to receive it, even though I just bought the $50 hardcover edition. It looks gorgeous.

Man, did you even read the press release? This has zero to do with Shout Factory "thinking this kind of pricing is fair", A LOT of factors contributed to the higher price point.

This is my fear! I don't want companies to start charging high prices more often depending on the release. Some of these are just getting too high. I fear they are going to think they can start taking advantage of fans who can talk themselves into buying anything if they want it.

Yes I read the whole email.A ton of films go through hell and back to get made, that still doesn't justify 80 bucks for one movie.

I know some of the members here aren't American but I think some of you need to look the word "capitalism" up in the dictionary.

I paid it with a Debit card, I need to cancel it, (i know, I must be crazy), but I just wasn't ready for it to charge me so quickly, I got in contact with them, and they said they will cancel, but I will preorder from Amazon as soon as it goes live, no way I'm missing out on this

For a limited release which was obviously both an ordeal and labor of love for those involved, the price is commensurate with the unusual nature and cult status of this title. I have only seen the theatrical cut on premium cable television once and was impressed with its different take on the horror genre. I have heard about the lost footage for a long time, and there was an erroneous report of a DVD uncut version a few years ago which never panned out. The 1000 edition with the poster will no doubt sell out long before the release date. For true fans and Clive Barker aficionados, it is a no brainer. For the merely interested and curious who appreciate obtaining limited editions that will possibly be sought after collectibles in the future, likewise.

Would be nice if they were not holding hostage the extras.

I'll probably buy it anyway, but not from the scream store.

But all the complaints are justified. Nothing but a cash grab. No reason to limit the extras at such a high cost.
